Currently reading some Elmore Leonard short stories that I never got around to.

I'm re-reading "Jackrabbit Parole", a book about bank robbers written by and based on the life of Stephen Reid, Canada's premier author/convict. If you like Leonard, you'll love this.

Also just read "Good Omens" for the first time. I know it's a nerd classic, but I just don't dig that brand of humor. The angel and demon parts were good, but I didn't dig the chapters about the kids. At all.

So you liked the Neil Gaiman bits but not the Terry Pratchett bits.

Great book. Neil Gaiman teams up with Terry Pratchett to tell the story of Crowley, a demon, and Aziraphale, a Angel who are put in charge of monitoring the anti-Christ and keeping the apocalypse on schedule. Both kinda like the Early plain better and decide to try and sabotage the apocalypse instead. The first 5 seasons of Supernatural definitely was inspired by the book.

This thread has given me a nice idea for a new thread that I've been wondering about for a while. Topping for now so I can copy and paste the good reading list here.

Currently reading two different books:

The Long War Against God subtitled The History and Impact of the Creation/Evolution Conflict by Henry Morris and Refuting Evolution by Jonathan Sarfati, PH.D.

Both are enjoyable and educational books I picked up on Amazon.

BUMP

Reading “Johannes Cabal the Necromancer”. It’s a comedy set vaguely in an early 1900’s era where a cutthroat man of science sells his soul to Satan for necromancy abilities. The story picks up with him realizing he needs his soul back and making a wager with Satan. The humor is pretty clever at times, the characters are fun and interesting, and the story is pretty solid. It has some pacing flaws that keep it from being “great”, but it is very entertaining.

Mechanicum, because I've become a full-on "Warhammer 40k bro". I breezes through the first 8 of the Horus Heresy series, but I've been busy over the last few months and have barely touched this one.
