So uh, before Marvel broke itself, where was Red Norvell through the Ragnarok-Asgard/Oklahoma-Female Loki events?

Honestly; far as I know the last time Red Norvell shows up was during the whole "Lost Gods" event in the Journey into Mystery comics.

After that nothing.

Presumably he got captured along with the rest of the Asgardian Gods during the dark gods saga.

But no presence, which is interesting considering he's a Thor level guy and one of Thor's two adopted brothers.

And Norvell brings up an interesting question which he first appears, why did the myth's (and apparently statues) of Thor look more like him with red hair and style of dress than it did blonde-Thor?

Red Norvell! That's a character I hadn't thought of in years. I've only ever read the first issue he appeared in, and never read up on what happened to that storyline. And when I read it as a kid, I also wanted to know why Red looked more like the classic Thor of mythology than ol' Goldilocks.

Maybe; Odin's Eye does tell Thor of a prior Ragnarok.

And am I wrong here but is this "Thor" a ginger?  I'm honestly got some color blindness going on, I think it is but it might not be.

Either way; I don't think they ever go back to answer that question.

Interestingly enough they both wear horned helmets.  And mentions it's the "Asgard of Human Myth".

After being resurrected by Seth he chumps Ulik on three different occasions:

Now this could just be a low showing but Ulik also makes reference to all the times he fought Thor so maybe not.

The hammer he uses here is presumably made by Seth or one of his minions since his last one was destroyed and this one has a spike on top, because "evil" I guess.

Interestingly; I believe the hammer he uses when talking to Thor during the Onslaught Saga, basically one issue before the "Lost Gods Saga".  Is the same one he later uses as a thrall to Seth, short and with a spike on top.  The one he uses that issue onward and pre-Seth is also short but no spike (aside from that appearance).  Just one issue before that I believe, when Red gets his hammer/god powers back it's the same as it was before, longer handle with the hanging leather straps at the top.  So I'm not sure what prompted the decision to make it short like Thor's, purposeful or some kind of mistake from a too early presentation of Red's "Seth Hammer"?

Round 1:

Two hits and Ulik has trouble speaking and needs to be carried off the battle field.

Round 2:

Few Pages later Ulik shows up for Round 3:

Round 4:

Another one or two hit win and as Red Norvell says, even with help Ulik still can't manage to beat him.
