Zachary Levi has really beefed up.  He's unrecognizable.

Going by the poster, it seems they're going for a goofier Deadpool/Spider-Man vibe, which I think is a good idea.  He's a kid in the body of a superhero, so there should be a lot of fun involved.  It would also be a good way to distance it from Superman.
^^^Hell yes.
Your point(s) have been a hot debate point in the Shazam thread at KMC.
Some ppl just dont seem to get why this movie should be -fun-.

Wealth & Fame he ignores, breaking scourge, is his reward. Look out!

DC movie fans sometimes have a weird aversion to being entertained or having a few jokes sprinkled in a movie.  That's what turned people off of BvS.  It was overwrought with unnecessary angst.  Wonder Woman had a great tonal balance as they had jokes when they needed to and they got serious when they needed to.  As mediocre as Justice League was, it still had a few moments of levity that actually made me care about the DCCU version of Superman.  As for Shazam, it's about a kid who says a magic word to become a superhero.  It needs to be fun because if it was anything else, it would be cheesy as hell.

If the Shazam/Captain Marvel movie isn't fairly light-hearted and funny, something is seriously wrong.

I'm not saying Billy Batson's story can't have serious moments and real drama. But in the end, perhaps more than any other superhero, this one is a child's fantasy.

DC is now doing the whole Elseworld thing so I'm guessing it doesn't matter too much.

What a fucking waste. WB couldn't nail Superman but it had nothing to do with Cavill. They seemed to correct ship in the last quarter of JL and he really started to feel like Superman. Plus he's young and could have gotten almost two decades of movies with him.

Yeah, Cavill was NOT the problem with anything Superman related. He isn't writing and directing the garbage. I'd love to see Cavill get a reboot with a competent movie-making team.

They just don't know what to do with Superman.

Its why the most likable version of Superman (IMO) was the one from the Justice League cartoon. He was still 'godly' but he wasn't absolutely unbeatable/invincible. And he had plenty of flaws too. The team worrying he was going to kill Lex Luthor, him involved in a team that had a giant laser weapon pointed at Earth, etc etc. It wasn't so black and white and they didn't have to do anything so drastic like having him crack necks in his opening appearance.

I mean, let's look at Batman V Superman. Instead of having a genuine good guy v good guy movie with different philosophies pointed at each other, it was contrived by the lamest version of Lex Luthor ever. Not only that, but Batman was essentially unable to injure Superman whatsoever without Kryptonite. The Millar fight was so so much better. Hard to imagine Batman V Superman claims to be inspired by that.

A shame. Henry Cavill is started to get other roles and Superman has become beneath him. Good job Warner Bros, ya fucked up.

Agree with everything accept miller. I like batman more..but miller has a tendacy to punk out superman in order to suck off batman

They should keep Cavill. With Ben can see not keeping him with his personal issues, but people like Cavill. DC freaks out to easily..and go to many differet conflicting routes

CONFLICTING REPORTS:

Reports are circulating that Henry Cavill is OUT as Superman and that Michael B. Jordan is in talks to replace him.

BUT, Cavill's manager said "Be peaceful, the cape is still in his closet. @wbpictures has been and continues to be our partners as they evolve the DC Universe. Anticipate a WB statement later today."
