Didn't we already know that?
Well it was obvious there was going to be some role swapping going on, but it's going to be a bit of a shitter for some Hulk fans (like me) if they go the whole hog and give Thor the Warbound and everything. I was sort of hoping they'd just be dipping in to the story with enough flexibility for a potential spin-off later down the line where they could tell the rest of Hulk's story on that planet (i.e. Warbound, Caeira, the works) but that seems increasingly unlikely.
Indeed - I thought and hoped they were simply being inspired by designs and places of the PH rather than subbing out Hulk for Thor. Not because I was holding out for a Solo movie, but simply because it's one of THE Hulk stories. Such a substitution attempts to cheapen the narrative.
It's a Thor movie. What did you guys expect? He's the main character. Like I said, I'm surprised they even managed to squeeze two members of the Warbound in at all.
I just said what I expected, the setting and theme of Gladiator's fighting on an Alien Planet. Borrow elements from Planet Hulk - the control disks, the two characters having to fight each other in a gladiator arena on Sakaar. I'm not complaining that the movie has lost my support, just that I much prefer them keeping Hulk as the hero of Sakaar, rather than being an obstacle for Thor - And they still might, there is no Red King, perhaps Hulk chumped him out, maybe Korg and Miek are inspired to fight alongside the Green Scar because of him fighting against controlling authority. I remain hopeful.
Also, who said Hulk fights Surtur?! Because SQUEE!
