I like the idea of a stand alone trilogy with new characters.

Huge news. How good is Last Jedi that Disney just entrusted ONE director... with an entire Star Wars trilogy... that doesn’t even involve the Skywalkers!? Is this movie gonna be eye sex? Literal eye sex!?

https://jalopnik.com/nissan-may-have-just-revealed-new-droids-from-the-last-1820848004

Possible new Droid designs.

Side Question: Maybe this is covered in the EU but Droids seem sentient or as close to sentient as can be. With that in mind are created with the color scheme already or do they come off the assembly line with no color and they get pick pick their color scheme like how we pick clothing?

Can vary. Sometimes they will even change their look and color themselves

Reactions from the premier are good. Most people agreeing that you should avoid all spoilers because none of the best moments are in the teasers/trailers, and there are a few gut-punching moments.

If this inspires them to get a Feige/Kennedy type leader and keep the best things about the SWEU so far, they could have an incredible franchise

Character for character SW has a far deeper and richer mythology that can attract more auteur directors than Star Trek can - it just has to develop its dynamic and build on the good its developed

Rey's best moments in TFA - perfect (TFA was a flawed movie with some epic moments - mix in with Rey's charisma and the power dynamic and you have Luke)

Kylo - perfect

A disciplined Mark Hamill in Luke, Oscar Isaac reigning it in and developing Poe, C-3PO, John Boyega Finn, Lupita Nyong'o, A more developed Snoke along with BB-8 ala R2-D2, Star wars Rebels,
a fun imperial droid, Chewbacca

Lot's to work with and plenty to discard

If the stakes weren't so high, this reminds me of Paramount finding its feet with two Star Trek films, and how many other properties before nailing it with JJ Abrams. Pockets of excellence and promise before unifying into a creative front

Carrie Fisher
Han Solo more disciplined, less goofy
