If y'all want it - we CAN recruit new posters and try to get some more estrogen in here. Give it some thought, I had some ideas in mind but if you guys want a few more sparring partners and more chixxxxxx, let me know.

As for a real rules thread am working on it.

Just making sure the vibe (senseless arguing and insults plus degrading your friends) doesn't change - if new people come on board they get with the program or leave, no complaining and all the mods will enforce that. If you're here you better have a thick skin. The rules are what's over-the-top even for here and deleting senseless crap or such - the mods know how to mod (the team is developing)

Great idea.  Invite that Anita Sarkeensien bitch over here and say we are friendly to her cause.  And when she joins up we can threaten to kill that dumb cunt.

New posters always last as long as it takes them to post a "Hey I'm new tee hee" post.  Then they take a tour around this shit hole and run screaming for the hills.

Mel is all the estrogen we need.

You know any recruiting is just going to lure fangirl back.

It'd be nice to not be the only chick around here.  If there were more girls we could braid each other's hair and have our cycles sync up and talk about how boys are stupid.

Well, it's a serious question

I'm approaching it like I would any other internet e commerce issue or analytic issue. If 100 new people show up, how many people will actually stick around - 1-3%. Those would be people who fit in with the personalities around here

For now I'm still busy setting up mods, little technical things, getting momentum back. We're at 127 members and we seem to grow a member or two a day. We're averaging 30 people a day and we've had as much as 60 and sooner or later respect threads and HOF threads will be up

I had a lot of ideas but I want to make sure its a tightly run ship and everyone is happpy first

1 - recruiting would be easy
A - lurk on other boards, see who would fit in here and invite - I've done that and will do it again

B - I have a few facebook ad coupons - maybe target specific types. More girls, cosplay types, battleboard types whoever would fit in. If they fit in, they stay. If not, another facebook ad. Overall the real question is how many people do we want here in the first place, so little by little I'm trying to feel out an answer and see what people have to say.

I would like to get more girls on the boards -

2 - Other ideas

A - color option for people (will be talking to designer about that)

B - any extra forums or sub-categories (writer's and artists forum?)

C - I know jack shit about gaming - but I'd love to get something that gets board members and gaming together on the boards - can that be launched from here?

D - Been thinking about a front page with a news feed - since I have a morning web surf routine before I get to serious work and training (training is an issue because lots of travel between gyms). I generally go the same nerdy sites - I have a good list - a front page that could repost articles would be nice - I need to see how people would react

So those are some ideas I wouldn't mind trying - I just need to see how people feel about them and what goes over well I'll implement. So far, so good though and it seems to be picking up - which is what I want. The real question is how big SHOULD the boards get  - since I think part f the fun here is how well people know each other. Thats a question for later though
