Hmm, apparently the series trailer shows him in future scenes with Antigone and biker cop.

Preview also had that cop say "when my of guys gets shot" rather than "killed". Not sure how he could survived that.

Yeah if they legit killed off Ray to focus more on McAdams, legit move. And "brave" I suppose. Colin was(?) the second season's biggest name attached.

Also, I'm still not being able to take Vaughn seriously, as an actor. Not because he used to do comedic roles, but god damn, I just don't buy any of the shit that comes out of his mouth.
My dad locked me in a basement where I spent five days, three without food, two without light, a rat was eating me and I killed it stonedead
and every morning I'd say
GOOD MOORNING MR RAT
and Mr Rat'd say NEEK NEEK NEEK

seriously what the fuck was that.

Much better episode than the first. The atmosphere is really starting to assert itself again with the music, distant city/highway shots, and urban decay.

That was intentional. It was an implied threat.

Yeah, I thought that part was played just right. There was a playful menace to it that Vaughn hit just right.

The basement story at the start was a good story, but Vaughn only delivered that half as well as it deserved.

I *know* it was intentional. It was just handled poorly.

The kid being locked in a basement due to a drunk criminal father... and then nearly dies because his dad gets locked up for a few days and tells no one about his son? The kid running out of food and being gnawed on by rats when he falls asleep in the dark?

That's pretty solid. Vaughn sort sells it here and there... in brief moments. But overall, it sounded like Vince Vaughn laying down and reading a story rather than feeling like a true character moment.

Pretty bold move having Ray (Colin) shot like that. Even if he survives, I can't see how he'd be in ANY shape to be involved with the story in a realistic manner.

There's not a lot of chemistry between the main characters so far, and there aren't any of the humorous touches that TDS1 had. Everyone seems strung out. If anything I'm digging Vaughn's character the most. "It worries me that you're talking so stupid" is a pretty funny put-down.

I thought Farrell & McAdams had a good scene together in the car...but I guess we've seen all we're gonna see of that.
