Yeah, Polar was really good. Definitely not the tone I was expecting going in

Plus he drives a Scout like mine at one point!

Drive - Not the one with Gosling. This one's sort of a lower budget precursor to Rush Hour (came out a year earlier), except with moderate sci-fi elements and better fight scenes IMO.

There's a movie called Samourais that I taped off TV once, that I couldn't tell you if its worth a damn or not now as its been years since I watched it, BUT there is one scene in the movie that I think would place it here and be totally worth the watch.

Let me explain....no there is too much....let me sum up.

So there's this evil ninja demon guy from ancient Japan who's plotting to be reborn into the reincarnation of a Japanese princess who's attending college in Paris by way of some fighting video game (just go with it). While this guy is waiting to be reborn, he sends some of his mortal acolytes after the girl, who of course has a group of friends who are all conveniently martial artists who protect her (they may be reincarnations of ancient Japanese warriors themselves).

Now of course, there's always one guy in a hero group like that who's completely and totally worthless in a fight. I mean a total pussy who trips over his own feet and couldn't throw a punch to save his life. And he's always getting knocked out of the fight while the others handle it.

As time and the movie goes on, both the heroes and the acolytes get slowly whittled down until it's only the chief acolyte coming after them. And this guy is a beast. He effortlessly one shots the biggest of the good guys so hard that....well said guy was on his cell phone talking to the others, telling them this guy was coming and when he gets kicked his phone is HOVERING in the air for a moment before it hits the ground. Like the guy was kicked away and the phone just hovered there where he was a moment before.

So, its the main hero, the princess, and the loser being chased up to the top of this building in Paris. Our hero is in the background shielding the princess when the acolyte shows up.

That just leaves the loser to try and be a badass.

To his credit, he talks tough "....Okay! OKAY! You wanna go? LET'S GO!"

And he starts to do all these really spazzy punches and kicks to the air. It's like Sean William Scott doing the thunder and lightning thing in The Rundown only a million times worse.

The acolyte scowls and takes out a throwing star, deciding to end this quickly, and throws it right at the loser.

At the same exact time, the loser is throwing one of his spazzy kicks and his tennis shoe comes flying off.

It hits the star in mid air, and the collision sends the star flying back at the acolyte and nailing him RIGHT IN THE FACE. He grips his face and screams and stumbles back from the impact, thrashing around and falling over the edge of the building.

Like I said, I don't remember whether the movie itself is really worth watching but THAT FUCKING SCENE slays me every time.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6duaxEj0dpQ   heh, actually found the movie. its around the one hour fifteen minute mark. less screaming than I recall....also, that poor moped.

That was great.

I referenced it a few days ago in ICT. Love the young mother's "What the fuck?!" reaction to Smith severing her umbilical cord with a bullet. Paul Giamatti was great too.
