Besides, like many characters Grodd's own portrayals can fluctuate. One day he's a tossing cars around and slugging it out with Aquaman, the next he might be getting kicked in the nuts by Batman under Morrison. I wouldn't be surprised if some writers consider him to be little more than a walking talking gorilla stats-wise as opposed the meta-strong beast he's also portrayed as sometimes. In cases where it's the former, kicking his ass isn't anything we shouldn't expect from any elite street levelers (even under ) and what not.

Cheetah's another one you wouln't expect to run into this either off the bat, but once again you've got instances of like Bats and Bane restraining with little ado. Same goes for plenty of other animal-themed characters scuh as Lizard, Scorpion, etc....and while one can always cry foul over the jobber card, we should all know the score by now as to how comics work; street levelerscan punch above their weight class, portrayals can vary, and Deathstroke's the kinda character who was built for this kinda shit.

Yeah, Deathstroke beating up powerful characters is no different than Daredevil, Batman, Cap, etc. doign the same.  It's usually pretty stupid and doesn't make much sense but there ya go.

It makes sense most of the time in context.

Does he physically overpower Grodd in a contest of strength? For example? That would be dumb.

Does he use a combo of his skill speed and strength to win?
