JBL, a man ahead of his time

Looking at the current administration, i gotta wonder how JBL’s character would go over now.
Shown below kicking Mexicans out at the border...

...i gotta say he seems ahead of his time.

Also, serious question, are he and Ron Simmons the oddest friendship in the business?
Mind you, i’m not up on backstage stuff, so just going by what little i know, JBL is a real life douche, but ive never heard of any Ron Simmons negativity though. Yet, he and JBL are supposedly really close, w. JBL being best man at Simmons’ wedding?
So is JBL not as bad as ppl say or is Simmons not as nice as i believe?

He's a dude. He's gonna have good qualities we don't see and bad ones we always hear about due to the nature of the dirt sheets.

Likewise, I think everybody has or has had friends who were assholes

He's like Animal Mother from Full Metal Jacket - a loud-mouthed asshole whose friendships/relationships and actions bely whatever bullshit he's spouting half the time. Like HJ said, I think we've all known or come across several people like that. Besides, locker room/barrack camaraderie can have a funny way of overriding politics and race ( in the ways that matter beyond the usual trash talk ).

True, true.
I myself have been pretty close w. a lot of redneck, racist a-holes during my time in the Army.
Still, just figured it might give us something to kick back & forth.

You have to wonder how much is true though. Seems like from what I've read,
there's a shit ton of he-said/she-said when it comes to wrestling.

One thing I'll never give him shit over is when he beat on and threatened to shove something up Duke Droese's ass in the shower when he and the boys had found out Duke was dropping roofies in the drinks of ladies out on the town

Also getting floored by Joey Styles made him cool his heels a bit.

Bradshaw's always been tight with Undertaker and has been a locker room policeman since before the Attitude days. He's got a lot of sway and that's probably given him an attitude problem at times.

I've never heard anything bad about Simmons ... all I know is he's meant to be a double hard bastard IRL ... he was the one guy in the WCW locker room the Steiners wouldn't fuck with.

As for odd couple friendships, the Dudley Boys are another. If anything, Bubba's meant to be an even bigger dick and bully than JBL, the whole Bully Ray persona was very much based on his real life nasty attitude ... but Devon's meant to be an amazingly nice guy.

He'll be buying drinks all night then.
