Mike had more success because he was more marketable, but he wasn’t as talented as Prince when it comes to song writing and musicianship. Mike gave you a better show, Prince gave you a better album.

I could be mistaken, but I swear I heard something about Prince's baby dying, and he did not report it for, like, an absurd amount of time (days/weeks). Not saying it was foul play or anything, but if it WAS Prince I am thinking of, there was a lot of suspicion there.

Pretty much, but I don't know if MJ gave a better show, either. I never saw either live, but Prince had a lot more ability in his shows to improvise and be loose, and he was no slacker on stage presence himself. But as great as a lot of Jackson singles and some deep cuts are, his output pales next to Prince's, which can match him on singles and crush him on albums.

Man,  you can't judge these two without including Prince's musical skill as well.   That's very much a part of him & his showmanship.  Hell,  Prince was able to create NPG and come with more original shit.   When he wasn't legally able to use his name. I've bought some Prince albums & singles.   I bought weird Al's 'Eat it!' instead of Micheal Jackson's 'Beat it!'

As for personally going to see them perform I've seen neither.   But,  I would've gone to Prince's shit over Mike's.   Now that I think about it.  I've turned or left the room when Mike performed.   Prince I'd watch his performances.

MJ is the better dancer/performer..Prince the better musician!Prince's songs have been hits for several other artists,as he was a writer/producer as well as an artist.the Time,Chaka,Khan,Sinead O'connor,the Bangles,& even Madonna had hit  songs by Prince.Michael wowed us since he was 9 years old.He was rocking stages long before Prince even had a record deal!Michael played the Scarecrow in "The Wiz"..Prince played himself in Purple Rain,..they were both incredible!

TBH I don't even like MJ's music that much. It's aged pretty poorly. IMHO, of course, and I'm aware I'm in the minority.
