Please vote based on who you THINK will win, NOT who you want to win.

Texas is obviously a historically red state but a new CBS poll shows that Beto O' Rourke is actually beating Ted Cruz.

I'll just say this, I disagree with Ted Cruz on PLENTY (war, criminal justice reform) but in comparison to much of the GOP, he is better (he pushes for things like a balanced budget amendment, is against bailouts, supports auditing the fed, and believes in order to cut taxes we have to cut spending too).

BUT Ted Cruz's campaign strategy has been embarrassingly awful. Beto doesn't mention Cruz by name but Cruz's response? Makes fun of him for having "nice hair and teeth", had an entire campaign ad dedicated to how Beto curses, and other really weird strategies.

Cruz said Beto will ban BBQ in Texas.

But Texans are morons so Cruz will probably win.

Texas will get enough voter suppression done to drag Cruz across the finish line. Hope I am wrong though.

Ted Cruz is more likely to win. O'Rourke has a realistic chance of winning, though. I don't have a strong gut feeling about the race, though O'Rourke seems more energetic and focused. Cruz so far seems like he's sort of been on cruise control and then gone towards panic mode.

If Cruz loses, no one would miss him. As Lindsey Graham put it:
Quote
“If you killed Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate, and the trial was in the Senate, nobody would convict you.”

I'd like to see Lyin' Ted turned into Cryin' Ted, crawling around on all fours desperately trying to avoid getting thrown out of the Senate WWE-style. His face would really sell it.

Being popular in DC isn't necessarily a good thing. The man you mention, Lindsey Graham, is one of the most abhorrent leaders in the country. McCain was pretty up there in popularity too.

Thing i learned while I was there.   Was that Beto had started campaigning before anybody else did.   And From what I saw & from what the locals said.  He's been very effective in his campaign.

Beto has the same thing Trump had going for him, a bore of an opponent and he is always on TV somewhere.

Like I said, Beto has the advantage Trump had: going against an opponent that wasn't liked by their party and has no charisma.

But yeah, uphill fight. The only way he wins is if he can get the places that normally don't turn out to actually turn out.

At least he's doing better than Phil "PO my volunteers" Bredsen. Damn, would I like one senator or governor in TN not to to be a total evil idiot. Just one. :(
