I can’t really speak to whether this particular instance was reasonable or not, but in general I think this kind of basic editorial oversight regarding character/franchise integrity is a positive thing that modern Marvel completely lacks.  Looser continuity can definitely be a good thing for crafting creative stories, but the current ‘everything and anything goes” is problematic as well.

What do the rest of you think?

The retconning of Lockjaw is a stupid one.   Hell,  for all we know he could've been like Brian from family guy.   It made more sense for him to speak in that moment.
