The Roast of Bruce Willis
« on: July 31, 2018, 12:20:10 AM »
I caught it last night.  Pretty good overall.

The line up of roasters. May not necessarily be in order.

Nikki Glasser. She was ok
Kevin Pollak he did pretty good.
Dennis Rodman. Why?  Why was he present?
Martha Stewart. She got a few good ones in.
Dom Irrera felt he was actually a highlight of the show.
Cybil Shepard she had some nice ones
Lil Rel considering he's a comic.  He could've done better.
Edward Norton had some pretty good material. Did better than I expected.
Jeff Ross. Of course he killed it.

Surprise guest.  I'll let you see for yourself.

Wasnt really interested. I’ve heard Willis is a RL dick in his old age, so spending time w. him not playing a character wasnt something i wanted to do.

Wealth & Fame he ignores, breaking scourge, is his reward. Look out!

I'm not sure I ever watched any of these.

Sounds like a complete shit lineup.  Bring in Gilbert Gottfried or Artie Lang for a real roast.

Watch some of the old Classic Friars Club Roasts, they did it right back in the day.

Was Kevin Smith there? If he wasn't that was a miss opportunity.

Edward Norton seems like a big get for them. I guess it’s bc he and BW are real life pals?

I was never a fan of these except for the bits done by Don Rickles, and the way he mercilessly shat on people with an expression of pure disgust.

After Greg Giraldo died, the quality of these went downhill.

Yeah I stopped watching these much a while ago. I definitely enjoyed them in...the mid-2Ks I guess? But they've lost a few of the classic panelists to either death (Giraldo, Patrice) or I guess disinterest - and the quality of the guests of honor really dipped into people I just want nothing to do with.

^^^last i watched was Rob Lowe, as my oldest kid (a big Parks & Rec fan) watched it.
He only knew him from that show, really, so it was fun watching him learn how far back Rob’s legend went.

And how he somehow looks younger now than he did in the 90s
