Monkeys are pretty well represented aphormism-wise, in both a positive and negative manner.

Monkey business, or monkey shines, is usually something shady, and trying to get a monkey off your back sucks, especially if you arent serious about it but just monkeying around.
That kind of bad behavior is infectious because, monkey see monkey do.

Throwing a monkey wrench into someones plans can be good or bad, but if you arent down w. that just let everyone know they cant make a monkey out pf you.
Being a monkey’s uncle is pretty benign, and spanking the monkey is no one’s business but your own.
Being a grease monkey or code monkey at least means you gave a steady job which is good.

Trying to remember all these was more fun than a barrel full of monkeys.

Its often believed that Pigs sweat like humans when people say "Sweating Like a Pig", but in reality they cannot sweat at all when in heat waves during summer.

Yeah, primates are interesting in that they are both much more clever than other animals, but behave more savagely than humans. So one story might be about them giving wisdom to a lion or whatever, and another will be about how humans are always in danger of deteriorating into them.

^^^thanks!

...maybe sweating like a pig means, or originally meant, being overheated, not being able to cool down?
