But Gladiator was definitely drained and still stalemated Tyrant in eyebeam blasts.

That's more power than even Surfer showed against Tyrant and Surfer was definitely more powerful than Terrax.

Surfer recovered several pages before Gladiator despite being put down several pages after him, which (combined with Tyrant saying he was the most powerful of the group) suggests the writer thought he was more physically resilient.

Tyrant almost oneshots Surfer twice in one issue and Gladiator took more than one shot to go down.

How is that being more resilient?

Surfer: *Takes the same number of attacks as Gladiator, but recovers much sooner, in an issue where he was explicitly said to be more powerful*

Abhi: "B-but... how does that make the Surfer more resilient?"

Gladiator took a full on haymaker.

Surfer took a backhand.

How much time does Glads get to recover between fights?

It could matter since after the first couple these will start to take a toll even when he wins.

Ten minutes between each fight

Okay, thanks.

Ends at Terrax or Morg in that case. I think I may lean to the former since Firelord is likely to be a contested fight where Glads takes some damage.

But even if Glads can get past Terrax, a fight vs Morg is unsure for him to begin with. After both Firelord and Terrax, he would go down pretty surely there.

Surfer went down in one blast three times in that arc.

Full power Surfer.

You're ignoring the fact that the Surfer had taken more attacks than Gladiator by the time they were each hit by Tyrant's eye beams. Overall, Surfer and Gladiator took three attacks each in SS #82 (including BRB being thrown into Gladiator), and the Surfer was unconscious for a much shorter period of time.

No, Surfer went down in one eye beam even at full power.

Gladiator was still conscious after one eye blast unlike Surfer.

You posted several scans, but none of them showed the Surfer being KOed by a single attack.

Surfer was in a worse position after one blast from Tyrant. This was full power Surfer who was laid out in one blast.

Compared to Gladiator who was still on his feet after a blast.

Yeah, because those two attacks really look the same.
I'd imagine the energy output is the same.  Surfer has always been a chump to me.

Doesn't change the fact that he was KOed for much longer than the Surfer by the same number of attacks.

Same artist, the fights/art are from an issue or two of each other, if not the same issue. Why the totally different visual representation? Tyrant certainly had more than one energy attack.

Congratulations, your take on the Surfer is out of sync with the consensus and evidence (cue what, a reference to Mexicans or something, I guess).
