New trailer is out...

Why are people in the comments thinking the bad guy will be Carnage when the dude isn't even red?

Yeah, but don't let this distract you from the fact that Elizabeth Banks played Betty Brant in the original trilogy

Word has it that Venom legit eats people.

Not sure how I feel about that. Didn't care for it when Gargan Venom did it, or that
one time in the 90's where they said that Venom needed to *literally* eat brains.

I wish Venom had his emblem on his chest. He looks too plain

I still say it was a mistake to separate him form Spider-Man.

Also, Tom Hardy's American accent is weird.  In some scenes, he sounds kinda crazy as he's talking to the symbiote, which I get, but even in scenes which I presume take place before being infected, he still sounds funny when he talks.

Early impressions are out. Comparison was made to Halle Berry’s ‘Catwoman’ and, as one person put it, “this year's Fant4stic”.
One source called it as possibly dividing yet somewhat entertaining as Ang Lee’s Hulk and Affleck-Daredevil. Oh, and Hardy supposedly makes out with Venom. Might not have been a joke.

Fans are already blaming Lady Gaga, specifically her fans, for putting out false reviews in order to boost her upcoming film.

I doubt anybody needs to do anything to boost A Star is Born.

Hardy said they cut out 40 minutes of his favorite stuff so I got even lower expectations then I did before.

Yeah, early reactions are pretty bad.  Even people who enjoyed it say they liked it as a b-movie.

They should swap the voices for Hardy/Venom. Hardy's Murica accent would be far more creepy coming out of Venom, and Venom's much less eerie coming from Tom. These are the risky creative decisions that moviemakers need to undertake!

I actually think Disney may have found the cure for Rated R films. How long before it takes studios like Sony to catch up? If it ever happens, could be a while.

What is that? What they plan on doing with Deadpool 2, releasing a PG 13 version this winter. How does that 'cure' Rated R films?

HEAR ME OUT: You release a rated R and a PG13 version at the same time. That time you don't have seemingly insufferable half-measures like Venom BUT you still have the mass-appeal to those who can't/shouldn't see the Rated R version.

With that said, the Venom reviews are pretty sad. I wanted the movie to be good, Venom as a Lethal Protector deserves some love, but anyone who saw the trailer should have been worried. Of all the enemies they picked they chose the most BLAND symbiote.

Literally ANY OTHER symbiote in that picture would have been more aesthetically pleasing than the one they chose, the boring bland symbiote in the middle.

Add apparently sluggish CGI (one reviewer described the final fight like watching black and white clothes in a washing machine), removing Spider-Man from a Spider-Man story, and a predictable plot isn't going to help Venom past the finish line.

I'm gonna see it and try and provide the most objective point of view and pray the critics are victims of the hivemind but from what I've seen, there's reason to be worried.

The problem with using the Five Symbiote Children as the villains in the first movie is that once you get Carnage, he won't be as special.  The audience has already seen Venom fight other symbiotes.

I always knew this movie wasn't gonna be any good.  You can't have Venom without Spider-Man.
