No, the movie itself is really good, but my wife and I started doing that afterwards where you extrapolate everything out and realize it's fairly flimsy (there is no way at all the monsters in this are humanity-level threat). But ignore that because, in a vacuum, it's a TERRIFIC atmosphere movie.

No. It's just that you're seeing an alien invasion extinction event from the POV of one family. You start thinking about how the father figured out a bunch of ways to mask their sound from the aliens but then you wonder how come governments/military didn't figure it out.

But then if you think about it. They establish the world was devistated in 80 some days and if they went after the loudest first then the military was probably the first thing attacked. Basically yeah the movie doesn't explain much but it's there really isn't any plot holes imho.

Also I heard a few people say the characters make typical horror movie mistakes but I don't agree. The kids make a few fuck ups but not out of the realm of panicky children. There is maybe one thing in the movie I would consider PIS but it lead to some intense scenes so I let it slide.

Ok, okay.
Kinda how ppl felt about SIGNS once the fun was had, and the stupidity of the aliens was really looked at?

Its nowhere as flimsy as Signs of you go by the idea they are aliens who's weakness is water.

So not that bad?
Thats good!
I really enjoyed SIGNS despite the plot holes, so if this is better in that regard, and as creepy, i’m in.

Yeah like I said I don't really consider not know how the aliens managed to kill everyone a plot hole. Its just an unknown factor. Its not like an alien invading a planet thats made up of mostly their weakness. Or an alien invading a planet not factoring in the bacteria or viruses on it. Or an alien invasion being stopped because they don't have Malwarebytes.

The whole point of Signs was that they were actually demons, not aliens.  And holy water was killing them, not regular water.

I think Xerxes linked me the article where it was discussed. Shamalamalan is a total dickhead, though.

Yeah thats why I said if you go with the idea they were aliens. I always went with idea they were demons.

Did Shamalamadoodoo confirm that they were demons? I thought that was something he never spoke about.

He did.  And he was annoyed that people just assumed they were aliens.  It was all in the interview.
