Superman gazes upon Thanos' Visage.
And had he does this he fells the solar energy well up with in him.
3 seconds later he explodes in a bloody mess of kryptonian fear.
Superman's final move is called I'll kill myself over here!

So this Thanos is more powerful than base. He has gotten more powerful with age-he can physically shatter Caps shield, has defeated a King Thor and is clearly a step above his younger self

This version of Thanos is supposed to be even more powerful than the normal one, right?

Sure.

And current Superman is much more powerful than pre Flashpoint, seeing as he's two Supermen restored since he  split into two beings by Dr Manhattan post Crisis/post Flashpoint.

And even half if that was weathering Far beyond Odin level power and tearing apart Standard Thanos-class beings.

So current Superman is two-in-one Supes?  That might be a fair fight against an uber-Thanos.

Actually it was explained that he "again" for lack of a better of "split himself in half".

So that new52 we had for 52 issues was actually his half. Then when he gathered his half energy to complete himself, then something started to imbalance the planet.

So if what I understand correctly:

1. Superman splits his power in half (Red), the half does Goku sheit and stuff, the other half does Ninja Superman
2. nu52 Superman dies, his energy hungs in the ether. Rebirth Superman (Blue) appears
3. Mxy escapes the prison of Oz tries to fuck up Rebirth Superman by being Clark Kent (Mxy)... but Mxy shows him he was forgetting something that he had a promise which he broke, so he kidnaps Jonathan.
4. Mxy creates this insane world to force John to forget, his parents. So a struggle ensues with Superman not remembering John but John makes him and Lois remember.
5. Superman Rebirth then gets back his energy and voila (or is it viola?), his whole powers are back.
6. Then on a separate story, the Earth feels something wrong.
7. Swamp Thing being Earth's protector tells Superman... "Holy fuck.... you are an anomaly in this universe! You are absorbing too much solar energy that you will destroy the Earth with your current rate."
8. Swamp Thing proceeds to sync Rebirth Superman so that he won't destroy Earth.

There are multiple stories now that depicts this Superman as something like a reality nexus and protector of it. So I think this is where Panthergod is basing this from.

If Superman is still a solar battery, and was split into two separate Supermen who were also solar batteries, that wouldn't necessarily decrease the power level of the two Supermen relative to the original whole, since in each case, the power would be gathered externally rather than generated internally.

To use an analogy, if you took a solar panel, and were magically able to split it into two equally large solar panels, the two new panels wouldn't collect any less energy than the original did.

Superman is not only a solar battery. He has has absorbed electricity as well to turn himself into an EM charged conduit. Besides, now we are using objects as superhero references? Btw, your analogy is terrible. Superman is a solar panel? LMAO!

I'd like to douse you with various chemicals and plug 1 gigawatts of electricity to you and you better pray you become the Flash or have a radioactive  dog bite you so you can become Dogman.  ::)

Except Superman was stated to be weaker in the split state.
