Movies With No Comic Relief
« on: February 03, 2018, 06:25:34 PM »
I saw this thread on the Se7en forum on Moviechat.  Despite some pretty dark movies out there, a lot of them will have at least one or two moments of humor.  Even really sad or disturbing movies like Se7en and Schindler's List have a few moments.  So whatcha got?

Ooh, good one.  It's probably the only 80's horror franchise that didn't turn into a comedy series.

MoS tried.
The part where the rowdy bar pstron pushes him and its like pushing at a wall.
Right after that he finds his truck in a compromising position.

Yeah but does every serious, sad or horror based movie actually need a comic relief moment?

I don't remember the comic relief scene/s in Se7en?

Maybe Boondocks Saints?

There was a lot of funny moments but the cat getting accidentally shot was pure comic relief.

No, but levity is important in telling stories, I think.

Detective Mills had a lot of smart ass remarks ("Just because the guy's got a library card, doesn't make him fucking Yoda").  And there's one scene where R Lee Ermy's character answers the phone at the wrong desk.

Yes, it was a funny movie.
Prob in my top 10 fav list.

I was simply pointing out the cat getting accidentally shot was the comedic relief for that scene as opposed to all the deliberate funny moments.

I definitely disagree on the Rob Zombie ones, at least the first two (I kind of half watched Halloween and haven't checked anything since despite liking House & Rejects), there's all kinds of dark twisted humor there. Captain Spaulding is almost all comic relief in House of 1000 Corpses.

How about There Will Be Blood?
