They haven't said what Earth they're on. They keep name-dropping folks and comic Easter eggs but nothing definitive has been shown/stated.

One question I had was if the songs they play (like the theme song and when Thunder made her debut) are original songs or actual songs that happen to fit?

Season 2 started last night and it was a good opener. Looks like they're deconstructing everything positive that happened to the Pierce's in the finale. School closing and Jefferson losing his job. Cop friend is pissed that he hid his identity (which is stupid), Jennifer is back to hating her powers, although I can understand why and the parents are fighting.

This show continues to be the blackest thing on network television, though and they certainly know their audience. That was an awesome nod having Bill Duke be the one to interrogate Lynn (he's the cop from Menace to Society, "You know you fucked up, right?")

I haven't read any of this thread because I just started the show and am on episode 4. SO FAR I am digging it. Does the show continue to build or will I be disappointed?
