Its actually a decent simplification of the X-Men history. The Watcher is basically telling an abridged history of the X-Men. It looks like each issue will end with a citation page for the issues they are taking from.

Just took a look at it.
Bold choice for the art style. Millennials are going to have fits at the old fashioned look. I like how it started off with Namor.

but damn some of this is dark.

Cyclops accidentally blowing a kid in half

Iceman causing another one to lose his arm to frostbite

True.

Oddly, as mutant hysteria has always been a racism/bigotry allegory, the lack of legit point never bothered me, racism and bigotry being pretty pointless exercises.

Cyke didn't actually do that. It was a hallucination caused by Sinister.
