Why blackface? Just be a Caucasian Winston as his race is irrelevant to the character. But this has fueled my advocacy for representation. It matters. Incidentally, Winston was originally supposed to be the smartest of the team.

I was joking about the blackface.

Oh. Missed that :)

Also, I noticed them making a point about only having 1 girl as part of the group, that was common in the 80s too.

Won’t go into too much detail, but it’s nice they didn’t just make the generic lead scientist evil

Ok just finished 1-4, and now that I've come in here to read all the rest I wonder why I avoided it. This topic was more about Winston than anything else.

Anyways, this show is so damn enjoyable. Very into what they're doing.

I wonder if there gonna do anything with Max's brother.  Right now he just there and comes off as Steve's older meaner brother.

Say what you will about the brother, but you have to admit his hair is amazing. It's so weird and I'm pretty damn mesmerized by it every
time he's on screen.

Finished the season. Really liked it. All the characters were great except the one side story (won’t mention it here)

Effects were amazing and felt like a legit movie

It's weird to see Sean Astin making out with Wynona Ryder.  His character seems good for her at the moment since he's just boringly average.  That family needs boring and average right now.

I'm calling it now...Bob's definitely The Big Bad. He's creepy in the sense that he just doesn't fit in.

Weird at times Netflix uses the same actors on their network produced shows.

Seriously was the 80's filled with goofy looking people too?

I forgot how odd looking Nancy was & that tall scrawny guy just fits working at the arcade so well.

I like Bob.  He’s so nice.  My guess is he ends ip dead.

Nancy is definitely tougher to like this season, and she was a chore in season 1. How anybody likes her, I don't know. Plus, she looks like a bootleg Emmy Rossum. In a bad way.

Finally started this. I'm trying to wrap my head around how old Paul Riser looks.

Dustin is to attached to his obvious baby monster .  And I totally thought El was gonna mess up Max more than she did when she saw her with Mike

Up through Pollywog, and this show is so damn good. Love the Sherriff/Eleven dynamic. Love the stuff with Will.

Dustin is making a stupid decision, but it’s a believable level of kid-being-stupid... for the moment. I’m also thinking the creature’s corrupting influence might get Dustin in the end.

Actually based on this ep, I predict Dustin and Will will be dead by season’s end. Max and a returned Eleven being their “replacements” in the group as things evolve and change... just not the way Mike would like.
