Well it's already issue #2 and Johns writing is like watching a freakin movie with all the references removed unless you watch another related movie.
Furthermore by the latest issue, Johns misses Alan Moore's point in the original Watchmen.
Adding salt to injury, Gary Frank (or likely again John's story boarding) does little to make the transition from the Watchman universe to the mainstream DCU. I re-read it and unless you read Veidt's statement, you wouldn't know they moved into the mainstream DCU. There was no sense of awe or wonder. Book #1-2 felt forced.... likely for money reasons.

BTW, according to Ozy, Lex Luthor is the smartest man on the planet. I am not sure if this is his homage to the JL cartoons where Luthor was depicted as such.
