Star Trek Discovery

Checked out the first 2 episodes and I have to say it's great and you can tell it has a high production budget.  I actually like the new Klingon look except they should have hair.  That my grip with that and albino Klingon's just don't look right.  But those grips aside amazing beginning.

Forgot this was showing, till i read at KMC last night that it was pretty bad.
I wasnt too hyped for it anyway.
I think i'll give this a pass, and stick to The Orville.

Pretty full on first 2 episodes!
The space battle sequence was awesome...nice to finally see what an in-depth hull breach looks like (sans movie versions).

I liked how The Shenzou & it's crew couldn't save their own ship & another came to its rescue without some convoluted plan.

The only thing that slightly baffles me is...

Making Number One a female is a good move for the female fans & feminists.

Making her black is another positive note to the culturally sensitive.

BUT naming her Michael...WTF?

Not any they just decided to update them again like they did for Next Generation

Is this classic timeline or the Nu-version

Classic timeline story takes place 10 years before the start of the TOS Star Trek.

Classic timeline

Good!

story takes place 10 years before the start of the TOS Star Trek.

Bad :(

What we need is something that takes place after TNG/DS9/Voyager

The real world reason for costumes, tech, and aliens all looking a little different is that Paramount TV, the Movie company and CBS all own different merchandiseable parts of the Holy Franchise.
'cause justice is the one thing you should always find.

My head canon has always had the Klingons just having different classes within their race. And the reason for one being shown more then the other is that one group has risen to power over the others.

As much as I want to check it out, I refuse to watch it since its on CBS's paid service. Either put it on tv, Hulu, or Netflix or make your service free, or fuck off. Pick one.
