I don't know how we don't have a topic for this. Last sunday's episode might be in my top 5. I love how they went from a side story to probably something very important to future storylines.

Next week episode looks to be heavily inspired by Sandman.

I thought we did have a topic for it.  Huh.

This season has been darker and more disturbing, but I feel like it doesn't quite have the deep character exploration of previous seasons aside from the Pickle Rick episode.

I actually think we are getting more deep character exploration. Like Drunk Rick going all Jigsaw and finding out Morty regularly cleans up after his black outs. Rick thinking emotional attachments as being toxic and at the same time learning he doesn't actually have an emotional attachment to Rick. Summer developing a bit of a death wish. Beth on the verge of a total breakdown. Jerry actually being the most emotionally healthy of the family when he shouldn't be. Finding out the difference between Morty and Evil Morty basically being his neurotic side.

Yeah, the show's done a good job of showing how everyone's dealing/not dealing with the fallout of The family splintering.
I'm eagerly awaiting the return of Phoenix Person.

I want to know who wrote Summer's last line front last night's episode. I kinda hope it wasn't Justin or Dan but one of the writing staff taking the piss out of them.
