Ah I've had desserts like that. Usually just called oreo creme pie or oreo cake. Oreo mountain sounds cooler though.

We just call it Oreo Ice Cream Cake or Oreo Mudslide.

The Oreo is the quintessential American cookie. Its almost an institution like Coca-Cola.

I was going to say cannoli. But my Mom's are the only ones I have ever tasted that rose to this level. Restaurant, bakery, or market done ones just aren't the same. Napoleons are actually a better choice, generally.

My most common dessert is just plain old fruit though. Which satisfies me just fine. Rice pudding is an easy change of pace on occasion.

I would suggest also to try  amaretti cookies,pretty sure you can find the in US.
