I'm two issues in. Seems a lot like House of M and Age of Apocalypse.

Quasar (High end), Spectrum, Blue Marvel, Hyperion, Starbrand+30 nuclear warheads going all out only took the shield down to 50%

Haven't read either but I have to say this is better than most of the garbage we've been getting the past couple of years

As far as tone, yeah. The difference being this is in continuity and not some alternate future.

I'm behind on the story but for the most part I'm liking it. My only problem is both Deadpool and Punishers seemingly blind loyalty to Cap. I get they both put him on a pedestal but I wouldn't believe either hold him in such regards they would be ok with him becoming the tyrant leader of Hydra.

Some events such as her possession, The X-Men nation, Vision being taken over by the virus, Dum Dum Dugan going full Hydra, Jane Foster Thor vanishing etc. all happened seemingly after Secret Empire 0 but before Secret Empire 1. Don't know if there are other books that address it though as I'd also be curious to know.

The X-Men Nation was explained in some issue. Steve made a deal with Magneto to get all the mutants out of the US.

What's the timeline in this storyline? How much time has passed since Cap took over? His stranglehold on the USA, and the way schools are teaching a revised curriculum to students who just go along with it, makes it seem like at least a few years have passed. Same with Sam Wilson's new career as a people smuggler. But the behavior of the main characters makes it seem like it's been only weeks.

The teen team of new Wasp, Miles Spidey, Vision's daughter, etc. is so fucking generic and boring. Compare these losers to, say, the New Mutants.

Its only been a few weeks but Cap was setting up the framework to get all that in place a while before the full take over.

I'm kind of confused on the canon aspects about all of this.

They are referencing things like the original Civil War. Did Hickmans reboot get united or did characters retain their memories? What happened since Reed rebuilt the multiverse in terms of what's in continuity now?

We basically have all of the 616 with some alt-universe stuff incorporated into it like Old Man Logan, Ultimate Wolverine's son, ultimate mjolner, etc. The biggest and weirdest change to the universe Miles Morales. During Secret Wars Miles gave Molecule Man a burger. Because of that gesture, Reece did Miles a solid by making sure he and pretty much every aspect of his life carried over into this 616+ universe. Also, both Pete and Miles remember the events of Secret Wars and that Miles and his life are from an alt reality while most everyone else does not. This is complicated even more since there was already a 616 adult Miles who is still alive.
