Why not both?

I heard they confirm Stan Lee is a Watcher in this?

Also, the movie was pretty good.  Not sure if I'd say it was better than the first, but still good.

I was happy that Drax had a bigger role and got to speak more.

They had a lot of random cameos, but since I'm not super familiar with comics, I don't know who they were supposed to be.

Not getting into major plot spoilers since this isn't the thread for that, however for the end credits, I will spoil those:

fdg

sdf

sfd

final warning

First scene is some comical shit with Yondu's arrow getting stuck in Drax.

Second is a throwback to the original members of the Guardians of the Galaxy.  I don't know who they are.  A giant black guy, a chick, a red alien, and a talking helmet (Rom the Spaceknight?)  And their leader who was played by Stallone.

Third scene was the Sovern talking about shit, and she says they came up with the next highest form of evolution, and they wheel out a golden cocoon that she says "I think ill call it Adam"

4th scene shows that Groot is growing again.  He's tiny the whole movie, but this scene shows him in a roughly "teenage sized body"

5th scene is the Watchers walking away from Stann lee in his space suit, where Stan was asking how he was supposed to get home, and mentioning he has many more stories to tell.

And as the credits scroll you see random pictures of the Guardians, as well as others.  I was pleased to see Cosmo.

Saw it on Sunday night:

Overall thought it wasnt quite as good as the first film but still pretty good. Like Liam says there are a few times when it pushes for jokes that fall flat - its probably best when its showing more heart - again like the first film.

The Good:

Most of the humour is well done - a lot of good lines/scenes. Drax in particular stands out here.

Stan Lee cameo is pretty cool.

Kurt Russell is perfectly cast. Mantis is good.

Effects are great. They pull out the Ant Man/Douglas de-ageing stuff on Russell and it looks seamless.

The Bad:

Feels slightly more formulaic - the music thing gets a bit old, a few Whedon-style jokes are very predictable. But it never gets too bad and the movie fortunately finds a fairly solid emotional core so that it survives these missteps.

Some early scenes of exposition with Yondu feels a bit clunky (to be honest i couldn't remember shit about his character though)

Other:

Stallone is in this for like 2 minutes tops.

A lot of end credit scenes as mentioned.

Russell said his de-aging was mostly make up with only some CGI bits.

I liked it.  I might have even liked it better than the first.

The Good:

- They managed to top the opening scene of the first movie.

- I laughed harder than I did watching the first one.

- It got me in the feels, especially the last half.

- I like that they get into the cosmic stuff with Ego and other things I don't wanna spoil.  With Thor and Dr. Strange nudging at it in the past, I'm glad this movie just goes balls deep.

- Kurt Russel

- It expands on everyone's backstories a lot more.  This includes Nebula.  We get a better feel for her character and her relationship with Gamora.

The Bad:

- There was some mood whiplash going on here.  The scene where Taserface starts killing Ravagers who were loyal to Yondu is pretty damn dark, but it comes smack dab in the middle of goofy shenanigans.  The final scene is a little uneven as well where the flick tries to be sad, funny, and uplifting at the same time.  It gets awkward.

- Most of the after credit scenes were just gags that were kinda "meh".  There was only one that set up future stuff.

- I'm not digging the concept of the original GOTG being just a bunch of Ravagers.  I can't say that I was ever much of a fan of the original team, but I think it's a waste not to have room for a cosmic superteam from the future to show up some time.

- The Teenage Groot was the only funny after-credits gag.  But it was funny as hell.

- I'm looking forward to seeing Adam Warlock.

- I really dug Quill and Ego's fight.

- Did not expect David Hasselhoff.

- I'm guessing Stan Lee isn't a Watcher, but it's confirmed he's been the same dude each time.

Any idea who those two blue guys were when Rocket and Yondu started their warp jump?

The two blue guys fighting on that random planet?

I wondered that too.  I'm guessing it was just some random shit to show while they were hoping through space.

Yea but I feel nothing is done without purpose, and they might be some cameo of some kind.

Real fun movie. I think I liked it better than the first. It was surprisingly dense with character arcs but Gunn didn't seem to drop the ball on it. Ego reminded me of Kurt's character from Sky High.

He reminded me of Starman in the flashback.  The old Jeff Bridges movie, not the DC character, btw.
