You are using the term "hostage" way too liberally.

It basically true.  China intervention is low but if we attack NK there gonna send every thing they have at Seoul and burn it to the ground.  That the biggest thing keeping us from doing anything.

They've been threatening to blow up the city at least once a day for 70 years.  People here are pretty used to it.  It's business as usual.

Gotta give it!  Nk isn't a bunch of guerilla style mercenaries.
And I can see something popping off tonight or tomorrow.

That's what makes it a much easier war.

Larger, more specific targets, an enemy with a "god" that can be killed.

Probably go like Desert Storm back in the day, sans Seol getting nuked anyways.....

This is true.  But, another thing to consider is what will he do to the populace if we cross that border?
He's already proven he has no issue killing relatives in position of power.  Would he turn his army against them to keep us out.  I would think so.

Doesn't he already have concentration camps and mass starvation going on?

Honestly; we could run roughshod over his arm so quickly it would be ridiculous.  Though some of them might be crazy high trained but we just have such an advantage on those guys it's not even ridiculous.

God knows the moral drop if they lose their own personal Jesus.

This sounds like just an ongoing development of this system as opposed to just flexing muscle.

A lot has happened today that is escalating the situation tenfold.

1) Mike Pence visited South Korea and actually went to the demilitarization zone where he could look at North Koreans.

He said "the era of strategic patience" is over when it comes to  North Korea. What does that mean? We shall see.

2) North Korea will "test missiles weekly." This can easily be seen as further aggression by North Korea during a tenuous time.

3) US Warships deployed to South Korea.

There are more fighter jets on a single carrier then most nations have in their entire arsenal.

"The strike group comprises the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, two guided-missile destroyers and a guided-missile cruiser.
As well as massive striking power, the carrier group - headed by Admiral Nora Tyson - has the capability to intercept ballistic missiles.
It was originally due to make port calls in Australia but instead has been diverted from Singapore to the west Pacific - where it recently conducted exercises with the South Korean Navy."M

I get the feeling we could counter almost anything North Korea can fire including a nuke (take it out before it reaches its destination). I think the reason why we dont admit is is for several reasons: 1) classified operations 2) we've never had an adversary launch a nuke so how confident can we be? 3) us military has a record of fucking up in regard to the unknown. 4) looks more badass when we succeed in something most Americans or the world didn't know we were capable of.

We have the ability it just like u said we never had to use it so we don't know how effective it will be. Then when it comes to anything launched at SK Well Seoul is 35 miles from NK borders no much time to react depending were it launched from

Imagine if he does that? Imagine if he's SO mad that some of his military bases gets destroyed that he decides to NUKE a city with millions of people for literally no reason. God, just pure evil.
