Movie was awesome.

Kong was huge.
John Riley was awesome.
I liked the hints about Godzilla and the ship that was destroyed was clearly Godzilla handiwork.!
Samuel jackson just want to kill Kong.

Damn, I'm surprised this is getting so many good reviews. In general I find the concept of King Kong boring but you guys have me intrigued.

They basically tossed out 90% if the original Kong storyline. Instead they turn him into Kaiju Batman.

Great monster action and the human characters were better than Godzilla.  Ghidorah was fucking huge in the cave drawing compared to Godzilla. Makes you wonder how Godzilla even survived that battle.

He's got some solid grappling skills and judo skills. He's also proficient in chain and blunt weapons.

It's nothing like the old Kong movies.  Set in the 70's really sets a great mood and feel plus none of that he's in love with the girl bullshit either (the thing I appreciate the most).

That's the scene that bugged me.

How do you fall back on a shipwreck & manage to get the anchor chain wrapped around your neck, chest & wrists?
