I'm like what's the point?  Brock was or has anti-venom or whatever the fuck he is now.

Agent Venom is pretty good and works.  Especially, since they worked out the klyntar aspect.  And they resolved its issues.

I'm not following comics as much these days, but he is the best and truest Venom. Agent Venom has some appeal, Gorgon less.

So yes, this is a good thing, provided it's well written and drawn, but I'm certainly a fan of the idea conceptually. All the more a fan after seeing dlb and riv's reactions.

Hey sometimes we agree. My first comic "event" was Maximum Carnage and shortly before that I was reading comics that made Venom seem like Spidey's worst nightmare so I have a soft spot for the original symbiotes, but esp for Brock Venom.

Brock is also the inspiration for the best fan film.

Brock Venom was the best version, and was best as they had originally written him. Unfortunately, later writers couldn't leave well enough alone and had to change a winning formula. This was a classic rogue that got ruined.

They really went off the rails with Carnage, and I agree with riv that this didn't fit with Spider-Man at all and seemed over the top. Cannibal Venom in Dark Avengers was equally stupid.

The endless line of symbiote characters was similarly awful.

Brock sucks. Hopefully his next death is permanent.

I think he's played out.  The character is very simplistic.  They done just about everything they could do with him and I ditto the feeling that he never worked well as an anti-hero.  Having the symbiote hop to other hosts and killing him off was a smart move.

As usual, MTL and Scourge are the voice of reason.

Brock Venom is best Venom.

Also I don't care if he turns out to be a shit actor. If they ever decide to do another live action Venom they should get Brock Lesnar to play him.

Was anti-venom. Lost that. Became the new toxin. Losing that now.

^^^As someone who respects your opinion and is confident in my own, i find your parting zing pretty funny.

Never been a fan of anti heroic Venom, and was barely a fan of straight up villainous Venom. I found him a sign of Spidey stepping away from the things that made him awesome and becoming just another "grim gritty character with grim gritty villains" guy.
I was afraid he was losing his friendly neighborhood aspect.
I thought that back in 1988, and given the directions and storylines that have followed over the last 29 years?
I was right.

First thought that back when he's girl friend got killed by the green goblin or maybe when Sin-Eater blew out that one chicks guts with a shot gun.  Venom was kind of late in the game for that one.

Agree to disagree.

To clarify:
If you cant see the difference in the 'Death of Gwen Stacy' and 'Who killed Jean DeWolf' stories/story lines (two of the most highly regarded story lines in Spidey's decades long run) and Venom running around jonesing on eating brains, i dont see the point in going back and forth for several posts on what those differences are.
So, agree to disagree.

Just saying; been awhile since he was really "friendly neighborhood".
