Whats the verdict on Multiversity?
« on: January 15, 2017, 02:20:50 PM »
Hey all,

been thinking about buying the Multiversity Hardcover and just wondering what the board consensus is on it?

I'll probably check a few online reviews as well - but its always nice to get a second or third opinion.

I'm still on the fence about Morrison. I loved All-Star Superman but wasn't that fussed about Final Crisis.

Don't mind me asking where? Also what are your thoughts on it?

There's a comic shop nearby that does a $5 clearance on the stuff that doesn't sell. All across the board, regardless of cover price. Got something like $180 worth of books for $40.

Multiversity had 3 hardcovers and 8 softcovers.

Magnificent for those with imagination.

Sometimes I get the impression reading Morrison that he relies too much on people being encapsulated by his ideas* rather than being excited by his stories and their execution.

*Which are usually very interesting.

That's a very accurate assessment. Sometimes he nails it. Sometimes he delves too far up his own ass. He is one of the best for a reason, though. Lots of talented writers are too scared to try outlandish shit and he's been trying it since day one.
