Maybe because it's Key and Peele but I can't help but keep waiting for the jokes to come out.

Like, keep expecting it to be "comedic".

Something about how the camera angles are and stuff.

Fairly sure the movie title's even a play on this:

Not to sound trite but basically pick one.
There's a lot to list. The conjuring(s), Annabelle, Sinister(s),  The Witch, The Boy, Poltergeist, Ouija...and so on.

In many cases the movies werent bad, just not particularly scary.
Both of The Conjurings were great. I have heard nothing but bad things about Anabelle.

The problem is now everybody keeps trying "outsmart" the film. They don't try to appreciate the movie and the storyline, they try to anticipate what happens next and figure out the ending in advance. "Oh, something is going to jump out!" "They're going to die for sure. Idiot."

Sometimes the ending is telegraphed on purpose. The journey is the real story and these people miss it entirely.

I'm not one of those people you're describing.

I usually watch scary movies with my youngest boy, under a blankie, in the dark, with popcorn and other snacks. I totally get into being scared with him.
Like i said though, a lot of these movies are not bad.
They just arent scary.

I knew exactly where you were going with this by your second sentence.

It's something I've noticed even more since TVTropes became popular. However, sometimes movies just suck (Annabelle).

Annabelle was pretty awful.
I actually fell asleep during Ouija, though i'm looking forward to the new one.

That will be the big twist.  White people have evil hypnotic powers because of cave demon ancestry.

How much you wanna bet the white people force someone to wear blackface at some point?

The big twist?  There are no black people.

Or maybe there are no white people, it's all just a dream or hypnosis.

Asians turning "us people" against "you people".

This is a great movie... anyone else see it? Surprised for all the interest that was demonstrated in this thread that no one has brought it up since its been out.

I want to see it but I rarely go to theaters anymore. I'll catch it when it's available to see at home.

So.. history. via ALLEGORY.

A white man did not simply  free the slaves.A white man destabilized his war enemies economic base, primarily. You don't get credit for fixing something that should have never been started. And no deflections to Islam and the Yoruba sellouts will change that. And no it never truly ended anyway, and continues to this day in different form. But thanks for demonstrating that fake Christians like yourself choose their fake 'white' identity-- a contruct invented primarily to justify slavery and perpetual resource theft--- over morality when it comes down to it.

I want to make a movie about wypipo who kidnap defenseless African Americans and bury them up to their necks in dirt. Just so they can touch their "writes, neat" hair all they want.

Or : a movie starring Lupita Olongobongo (from Seven Years a Slave) takes a hit shower at the start; but she didn't have any coco butter and on the way Brendan Fraiser and Tom Cruise try to kill her  cause they think she's a mummy.
