Heard a radio morning show going over this the other day, and been meaning to ask.
They went all over the place on the subject. Some things that caught my attention:
Athletes actively play sports.
Well what is a sport then? Is lifting weights a sport?
Power lifting, weight lifting like the olympics...
No thats just to look good.
Its called a sport, though.
Its not in the olympics.
Neither is football.
And so on...
They were actually pretty funny ripping on each other.
Even went into the end of ROCKY III "You fight great, but i'm a great fighter" scene.
Personally, i dont think i'm an athlete. I dont play/like sports all that much. I technically can, i guess, but have no desire to.
I like to work out and run, and learned to box and wrestle, but not to compete. The Army made me learn combatives but i'd never participate in "tournaments" they had.
A lot of you guys work out but, i've no idea if you play any sports, and am curious where you stand on defining athletic vs athlete, and which you are.
