Tulip is played by Ruth Negga who is pretty fucking hot.

I'm going to check it out but will have low expectations.

I liked the bit where Tom Cruise exploded.

Holy crap, I didn't know Joseph Gilgun was playing Cassidy. The casting looks pretty tight.

I'm surprised they didn't tap R. Lee Ermey to play Sheriff Root.

So, no new episode this week but we get Talking Preacher. Chris Hardwick makes for an interesting after show, so i'll catch it.

Need to watch this episode again, as it was pretty fun, but the beginning segment threw me off.
Tulip cracks me up. The Jesse/Cassidy discussions look like they'll be fun as hell going by what was seen this week.

I'm enjoying it. There are significant deviations from the comic but that hasn't bugged me. The mood is creepy (in a good way) and they've retained enough of the original elements that it's recognizable without being a copy. The casting is great.

They should have got the Undertaker to play The Saint of Killers.

Significant deviations? 95% of the content so far, if not more.

Well, one of the biggest changes was that Preacher the comic was on the road a lot as Jesse hunted God (and dealt with his family.) The show seems like it will be set in the small town. Cassidy wasn't being hunted by some Christian cult. Jesse had been kidnapped by his family and placed in his position as a preacher while Tulip thought he just up and left her. In the show, Jesse seems to have more free will in his decision to stay, and Tulip was well aware of where he was and isn't dealing with the anger of him leaving her. We aren't seeing any of the action going on in Heaven in the show.

I mean that's no shortage of difference, especially in the characters of Jesse & Tulip.

I kinda wish it wasn't calling itself Preacher, though there's just enough stuff like Arseface & Genesis that it couldn't get away with pretending it's not inspired by it.

Haven't watched since the pilot. Did the Irish guy become easier to understand yet? I couldn't make out anything he said in the pilot.

Turns out he's a vampire. And he's a little easier to understand.
