Marvel Zombies / Re: Is SHIELD being overdone?
« on: June 14, 2017, 12:16:41 AM »
Its no worse than Waller and all the smaller organizations st DC.
Comics really cant be written nowadays without that kind of presence in the books.

That's one thing I appreciate about indy comics. They're not afraid to change the world outside the window.

So if the government tries to force superheroes to work for them, the heroes might rebel by destroying the NSA (or whatever), or even flat-out overthrowing the government if they get too nasty. Which Marvel or DC would never do in their main continuities.

I mean, when Maria Hill tried to arrest Cap for refusing to follow a law that HADN'T EVEN BEEN PASSED YET, can you imagine if the Avengers had replied by taking out SHIELD? It would have been glorious.

When have been a good way to kick off the Civil War and maybe even justify Cap's position in it as a character I mean, essentially getting forced into leadership of a role he didn't quite want.

In a few John Wayne western's he'll punch or get punched through some guard rails or a door.

I'm not sure if that counts as being "superhuman" or not; that and being in the Western Genre' instead of the "Action" one.

Nothing really new from the trailers.  In Civil War, he was consistently beating up Bucky and stalemated Cap.  He also pretty casually beat up Hawkeye and fought off Falcon.

Yeah from what I remember his speed was above both of their's.

Well they did pop up from time to time but before they were all pretty much kept busy by having to deal with the "evil" versions of SHIELD, Hydra, Secret Empire, Klaw and the other super tech. terrorists that pop up from time to time to have a lot of time for every day super villainy.

But I can understand the feel; like Spider-Man and Wolverine in the Avengers.

It's like; considering how well everybody knows everybody now.

Kind of hard to justify them ever running alone, at the very least when they are hanging out inside of New York.

So did Lex ever try & sway the public opinion of Supes after losing his hand from cancer?

Don't know; is the public aware of where kryptonite and Superman are from in the last few iterations?

Who is BLT?

In real life?

Don't remember any more.

His board name was "Bruce Lee's Left Testicle" or something like that.

only reason to use it is in interacial porn

when someone banging your daughter

Pretty much; the N-Word ain't got no place out side of the bedroom.

And even then it's on a case by case basis.

Actually if a villain was left with a permanent injury/disfigurement from a previous fight with Bats, it would be a better motivation for them to be in recurring story lines afterwards.

I never read Superman but I know the general gist of Lex losing his hand because of the Kryptonite ring he made.

Did Lex ever twist the facts & try & convince the general public that Supes was directly responsible for it?
Lose his hand?

Lex got insane cancer and had to transfer his mind to a clone body

I think his hand was the first thing to go.

Complaining that Black Panther is too black would be like complaining Vikings is too white.

Honestly if anything the problem with Vikings is it isn't white enough.

I will never understand how that lady ever passed for black for so long.

Well; she got a tan so swarthy skin and her hairs curly from the perm job so......that's about it for what it takes to be "black" in this country.

Yeah BLT's the way to go.

Does that shit in real life; hell even got interviewed by some kind of online magazine or some such shit at least once.

Here's a question for ya; since the JLAvengers crossover did a low-key reference for the pre-crisis failed attempt at a JLA/Avengers cross-over.

Does that mean the pages on the net that were drawn by the guy and spread around count as some sort of canon now?

Looks really good, and different from the routine origin stories the last few comic book movies have been.

I hope Klaw gets some superpowers so he is a bit more like his comic book version, and is a bit more of a threat.

Well wasn't Captain America:  Civil War essentially his "origin" story?

Kind of did; see his dad's assassination and what spurred him to take on the mantle of the black panther.
We didn't get a origin in Civil War.

It really needs a society with a fairly high level of trust in order to work. If someone wants to make a website insulting a random group, well, I trust that enough of my fellow citizens will think he's a cunt (am I doing that right, Bran?) and call him out on it. However, it starts to break down the less trust and honesty a society has. If you don't trust your fellow citizens to disregard the crazy talk, all of a sudden "hate speech" laws start to look pretty good.

Let's apply this to HeroChat.

I never understood the reasoning or logic as to why The Flame Room was disbanded...in terms of revoking "free speech."
It was a forum to vent, talk shit to each other & more importantly a place on this message board where nothing was meant to be taken personally.
It was your own individual right to venture in & join in or just totally avoid it, if flaming wasn't your thing.

But since it's removal, we evoke our "free speech" to openly attack anyone at a whim no matter what topic it is, often derailing the subject at hand.
Racism in The Flame Room was taken in jest, racist comments throughout the board is taken personally.
An in-joke in The Flame Room played itself out in hilarity but bombarding that one poster with the same joke, no matter what topic they posted on just drove them off the board forever.

We would've had more fun dealing with idiots like Quan & Star if The Flame Room still existed.

Don't you understand Bran?

The whole board is a Flame Room now.

Debate / Re: So will the Senate get rid of Obamacare?
« on: June 12, 2017, 11:10:17 AM »
Possibly; but I can't see that being good for getting them votes and once it got put in the other side realized it could be done so to speak.

All that would really do is set up the possibility for the dems' to put in a better and actually effective system.
