ICT / Amazons vs Spartans
« on: June 16, 2017, 08:07:35 AM »
Saw this on KMC and thought it'd be a good one.

The Spartans from 300 versus the Amazons in WW.

Who takes it?

Music, Movies, Tv and Books / Introduced my girl to the DCEU
« on: May 13, 2017, 09:24:18 PM »
So I watched MoS with my lady. She had never seen the film. Her thoughts:

"It was loooong. I took a couple of maps and didn't feel I missed anything. They could'be saved the world 3 times by now. Marvel seems better at pacing.

I like Superman being more of an introvert. He was really depressed, though. Like, I thought he was gonna slit his wrists or something.

Still like it better than Thor."

Not sure if I should show her BvS...

Here's one we've never done, to my knowledge. Now we have more showings for Mary to draw from.

Wonder if he'll be labeled as a terrorist or just a "disturbed individual"?

Music, Movies, Tv and Books / Thor: Ragnarock trailer

So I'm showing my girl the MCU in order (she had never seen most of them.) We're in Phase 2 and I told her Thor 2 was next. She literally groaned so I was wondering if it was something necessary to show her? Or, should I just explain the plot and go to GOTG?

Music, Movies, Tv and Books / Twins remake
« on: December 22, 2016, 02:53:23 PM »
Ok this isn't a thing but, since studios love remakes, I was thinking that the Rock and Kevin Hart should do this.

Ok, LOVE the twist but the idea of Dom going bad and Brian not showing up doesn't sit well with me.

ICT / Aragon vs. Legolas

This is with swords only.

1. Movie versions
2. Book versions

Who wins?

Music, Movies, Tv and Books / Fantastic Beasts aka (SPOILERS)
« on: November 19, 2016, 01:47:21 AM »
What if Doctor Who was a wizard?  Because that's basically what this is.

Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It had better action than the Harry Potter films, imo. I also liked how different the American wizards were in comparison to the Brits at Hogwarts (much more aggressive and didn't seem to mind killing folks.) The monsters were cool, as was the way Newt used them.

Speaking of Hogwarts, Newt apparently got kicked out but isn't this the same school that let Voldemort graduate?

Anyways, I'd give it a solid 8.5/10. Keep in mind, I'm not a fan of the HP series. Still haven't seen the last 2 all the way through.

DC Drones / Well played, DC (Spoilers for the Superman family books)
« on: November 12, 2016, 03:14:22 PM »
So I was reading the latest issue of Action Comics and something occurred to me. They're basically resetting the status quo, while updating it.

NuLois has been killed off and now Post-Crisis Lois has, literally, taken her place. She goes to interview Lex Luther and he starts talking about hoe he distrustful the "new" Superman (Post-Crisis.) How people shouldn't trust and alien with questionable values/motives. He wants to be the man Metropolis looks up to. This is setting up the same premise Lex had for hating Superman in the old continuity, without disregarding the new canon.

Also, byou creating a "new" Clark Kent, who has been vetted as 100% human and NOT Superman, it opens up a way to allow the Post-Crisis version to take back his secret ID when the "new" Clark inevitably dies or whatever.

So we'll soon have both Post-Crisis Lois and Clark back at the Planet. And they didn't need to reboot anything. It's pretty smart, imo. Now my only question is how will they explain Jon? Adoption?

Music, Movies, Tv and Books / "How long are you gonna play both side?"
« on: September 19, 2016, 12:26:15 PM »
So I was re-watching CW and one of my (many) favorite scenes is when they're all talking about the Accords. Rhodey and Sam are having an argument  (loved their interaction here) and Sam makes the above comment. But what was he talking about, exactly?

Also, Sam calling Steve's statement 'dangerously arrogant' was spot on, even if Cap was right.
