The first humans Thor created were Jane and Steve, named in honor of Jane Foster and Steve Rogers.  Doom's arrival takes place centuries later, and there are many humans around now.

I've got it waiting for me to pick up, I pre-ordered for the bonus costumes even though I probably won't play it for a while.  From what I've read it seems like every other open-world Spider-Man game, with the same things praised and complained about.  Great web-swinging, vast but empty city with weak side-missions, decent combat and fun fan-service easter eggs.

based on Thanos Legacy, it's looking like Thanos let Gamora kill him to erase his future, as was surmised.

It was a little confusing, because the page before Gamora kills him it says Thanos wants the Infinity Gauntlet to escape his fate "but as Thanos would soon learn...fate makes fools of us all."  It doesn't sound like he planned for her to kill him, he just accepted that she would when she came for him with the power gem sword.

His body is definitely rigged to do something in the event of his death, but it seems like a failsafe he has in general and not specifically for Gamora's actions.

Hall of Fame / Re: Going by "average showings" Thor is barely a mid-tier

with this "average feats" policy that alot of morons like to use

no one but you ever heard of the law of averages idiot

Clearly this is someone worth responding to.

And I think Freeza training makes sense. Just from DBZ, I was under the impression that he never did any training at all, he was just born naturally that powerful. So him actually go through four months of hell to get stronger makes sense.

So do people like Super?  It looks like it has the same level of thought put into it that GT did, and people hated GT.

apparently the Thor thing with Thanos was before Infinity Wars

That was an awkward wrap up.  Aaron was clearly forced to abandon the Thanos/Hela plotline by the Infinity Wars event.

Hold on guys, Negan has a bat.

I'm an atheist and a feminist too, but I think everything after the second or third Thor arc sucks - I don't approve of anything he's done with the character or his mythology. If anything, wouldn't atheists enjoy seeing the pagan "gods" being written prominently and powerfully? Each active pantheon waters down the notion of a true God and lets us know that we're dealing with a wide-open, non-Christian/Muslim/etc world in which powerful beings are fallible and flawed rather than untouchable in moral and power terms.

Aaron's own lazy hack-ery is at the core of his shitty writing the last handful of years. I'm sure that Marvel did put out a directive or request for more female & minority characters, but Thor has survived replacements before without being broken down into a drunk loser piece of shit who can't win fights. A good writer would have taken the company directive in stride and made it work. Aaron just isn't a good writer at this point.

Yeah, it's understandable to think the criticism is unfounded when you see the strange areas guys like Upper Krust fixate on, but my politics line up with Aaron's and I still feel his book is terribly written and extremely heavy-handed.

Interesting.  So he's supposedly always been this level, or did he improve himself for the tournament?

I didn't mean that all the EU should've done away with.  Just that ridiculous shit involving Jedi and Sith doing weird cosmic stuff.

My bad, I misunderstood.  I totally agree with getting rid of that stuff.

I haven't caught up with the end of Super yet, but did something happen with Master Roshi?  Otherwise Krillin passed Roshi at the beginning of DBZ and should be ridiculously stronger by Super's timeline.

Writers tend to retcon shit they don't like all the time so it can and does happen in comics.

Yeah, so they could have done that with the EU instead of completely throwing it away.  I was addressing whether that was "the best move they did."

And when characters pull off power feats they wouldn't normally do, it's considered ridiculous by most fans.  Not sure where you were going with that.

That we shouldn't judge the EU by the most ridiculous material anymore than we should judge Marvel or DC by their worst comics.

Cutting that stuff out of canon was the best move Lucas Film could've made.

I don't know, do you throw away the Marvel or DC universe continuity because Jeph Loeb or Jim Starlin lose their mind writing their pet characters?  Or do you excise/retcon/ignore the stuff that doesn't fit and keep going with the material that does?  The EU often did this, anyway, since Lucas frequently contradicted established lore and the EU rewrote itself to fit Lucas' new version.

Rebooting isn't going to stop some random writer from going there again in some comic or video game.  Lucasfilm didn't throw that stuff away because they thought it was all ridiculous, they're already incorporating most of it back, they did it so the filmakers wouldn't have to deal with continuity.  That's totally within their rights, but let's be real about why they did it.
