Doctor Who Season 12 Won't Air Until 2020

https://www.cbr.com/doctor-who-season-12-2020/

That really sucks. I've never understood the BBC with long breaks between seasons.

And then you hear the actors talk about the grueling schedule and you think to yourself, but how?

I seriously thought Daredevil was one of the top shows for Netflix. All this hate for it seems odd.

Also, they're called the Romance languages not because of their connection to romance, but because they evolved from the Roman language. In southern France, they weren't at war as much as other parts of France, so most of their literature focused on love, and was written in the local vernacular so the word romance evolved out of that . Not sure if anyone knew that but I thought it was interesting.

Yeah, I thought that was common knowledge.

Yeah, I figured the majority of people here would know that. I'm listening to a podcast on the history of the English language, and don't have anyone in my immediate circle that would be interested. So when I saw a thread on pronouns I got excited.

One thing about pronouns is that they've changed and evolved so much that the current trend to get rid of the gender should make sense, I feel like this is being forced where as all the other changes evolved over time.

At least English language has almost no noun gender issue.
That shit is becoming ridiculous here.

Yeah, with the romantic languages having genders for nouns, I'd imagine that would be difficult if people decided to stop using gender specific words.

The main reason English lost all those genders and inflections is because of all the invading done by the Vikings and the French. With all those new words coming in and people mixing, it was just easier to drop a lot of that.

Also, they're called the Romance languages not because of their connection to romance, but because they evolved from the Roman language. Well, the trophy hunter would qualify as your traditional alien bad guy, and then there was the p'ting, but it was to cute to be a real monster bad guy. But yeah, the theme for this season seems to be that humans are the real monsters, and next week it looks to be a commentary on capitalism.

I could see her not remembering. Now if the Doctor had shown up, I would think she would remember. But I thought there would be something in the story where they reveal to be from the future and Yaz was her grand daughter. And that's why her nann would never tell the story of where the watch came from because she knew that Yaz had to go into the situation with no knowledge.

Also this season seems to be following the old method of one story in the future, one in the past. To teach science and history. But so far, we haven't had any real villains or bad guys in the episodes. So far the antagonists have been a trophy hunter, a racist, a gun rights activist, and now religious haters.

Well the only reason we got the war doctor is because Eccleson didn't want to come back.

Yeah, but I would have loved to seen McGann in that role instead of creating a brand new Doctor that had been around apparently the whole time.

There's only been 5 episodes. Just feels like they're trying to retroactively change things when there's no need.

I liked the first two episodes a lot. I don't mind a female Doctor. I'm not a fan of people trying to rewrite the past to fit something else. I didn't like it when Moffat added the War Doctor either.

I am getting tired of all the vague references to her possibly being a woman at a previous point. I feel like they're trying to beat it over our heads.

Superman is my favorite character of all time, always has been and always will be. There's been times when some stories are boring, but for the most part I've always enjoyed him.

The hotel owner was a fine character until he started shouting guns will save this world.

And it seems to me that a lot of the episodes just sort of fall apart towards the ending.

I thought the Hand was awesome in season 2. Would have been fine in Defenders if it was more of a Daredevil story and had less Iron Fist.

It's like that with the first episode. She's okay with the DNA bombs, which is so nasty that it's been banned in 7 galaxies, but being kicked off from real high up and a quicker death is somehow morally wrong?

Season 3 Matt seemed to have taken a step back when it comes to skill. He was having a harder time with people he should have mopped the floor with. I figured it was because his senses weren't working right and was taking a while to get back to full strength. Plus not telling how many injuries he's probably dealing with at any given time.

I hadn't seen IF season 2, but I've always thought Danny should be a better fighter than Matt, but I with Matt's senses he has a better shot, but Danny should still win. Though I want it to be Matt.

I thought it would be too, but liked that it wasn’t. Gives us some time with Fisk sitting on that information. The whole potential fall out from his law practice getting turned upside down and cases overturned has huge potential for wrecking his life.
