His DD and Ultimate Spidey were always tops for me.

What changes?

The Pull to Open sign on the front is now black with white lettering.

I don't like it, and what's up with the changes to the TARDIS.

They also probably didn’t care to much they had to shut building down as doorway was closed and there was no more test subjects there

Probably happy the truth didn’t go out and just the watered down version was released

Yeah, from their point of view they're probably thinking, sweet, we'll just go with that story, as it neatly tied up everything for them.

I didn't like the Lost Sister episode. It felt like an episode of the X-Men and didn't really do anything to move  the story along.

I also didn't like Nancy and Johnathon's story  either. I prefer Nancy with Steve instead. He didn't really do anything wrong, and she dumps him. And the whole reason they went was to get justice for Barb and resolution for her parents, when all they did was come up with a lie to tell them and get the place shut down, which most of them ended up being killed first anyways. They were actually the good guys in this one and trying to do right by everyone. That watered down news report conveniently helped them out as they now have a cause for all the deaths in the building, and with the gate closed, they can shut the building down.

It is weird seeing Star Trek from a military POV, especially growing up watching from a science/exploration perspective.

Nicholas Meyer is a producer on the show, and he did have a more Naval feel to his movies.

Thing is, this series would still be pretty decent without the writers trying too hard to be edgy.

That's what I think to. It's a good sci fi show, but it doesn't feel like Star Trek.

Also, I can't stand the Klingons. It feels like they're trying to talk through a bunch of prosthetics  and not natural.

I did like the call out to the other captains though. And I thought Mudd was very well done.

They seemed to have been building up to it for over a year now. The whole DC rebirth thing is supposedly caused by Doc Manhattan.

Enjoying the series but it's trying way too hard to be edgy.

Casual crew dialogue is strewn with "shits" & "fucks".

And now we have the 1st interracial gay couple between the engineer & ship's doctor.

Yeah, the language threw me off. I don't mind language when it feels natural, but this feels forced and like you said, an attempt to be edgy.

I like the show, I just think it's in the wrong time period. All off this happening before TOS, with technology way more advanced than TNG is the biggest problem for me.

Namely the reveal at the end

either their mission going to fail MASSIVELY...or they way beyond space travel tecenogy then any ship

They have to fail with the space travel  thing.  I do wonder if Discovery is actually part of that Black ops Star fleet group.  What with the black insignia some of them wore.

Section 31, I think. But yeah, this teleport tech is waaay beyond later Star Trek tech. Unless they find a dangerous flaw or time travel to the future, this tech can't carry on.

That's what I'm thinking. The show would make way more sense if it  was placed some time after TNG.

Sports Talk / Re: Just had my first/biggest draft of the season

Every single week, I have run into a buzzsaw.

Week 1: I played the guy that had Stefon Diggs.
Week 2: I played the guy that had Kareem Hunt
Week 3: I played the guy that had Todd Gurley
Week 4: I played the guy that had LeVeon Bell and DeAndre Hopkins

The schedule is my biggest foe right now.

So you're 0 and 4? I really thought you would have had the season. But you're right, that's a tough break on the schedule.

So what do you guys think of free agents ? Any good looks out there? I keep thinking of Funchess, but not to sure. I'm also looking at Duke Johnson and Paul Richardson. They both seem to be averaging points consistently.

It figures, I debate and ask advice and sure enough, Watson sets the rookie record with TD passes.

Yeah, Kelvin is frustrating for me. He has the potential to put up some good numbers, he just never gets the opportunities. And New England has gave up some passing yards, so that's what I was thinking.

Alright, I need some help.

Should I start Deshaun Watson or Tyrod Taylor?

Not sure how to place these guys
Marshawn Lynch
Ameer Abdullah
Mark Ingram
Dez Bryant
Larry Fitzgerald
Willie Snead
Kelvin Benjamin
Michael Crabtree
Ted Ginn Jr.

I need two RB's, two WR's, and a flex. The league I'm in seems to favor QB's and WR's.  So far I'm leaning towards Carson, Ingram, Bryant, Fitzgerald, and Benjamin.
