The Rock plays himself 90% of the time, but when he doesn't, he's disarmingly good. See Pain & Gain. Y'all better start paying the future POTUS more respect.

ICT / Re: Who would you want on the Avengers?

MCU Cap
MCU Thor

....

Basically the MCU Avengers, but plus John Wick.

I'm less sure. The X team got by with Colossus mainly taking center stage in the ring with Juggernaut taking his shots. The GOTG don't have someone that can do that.

Daffy, because he'd want it more.

Bucky did One-Arm, stop that bike and casually saddle up on it. If that thing was even going 50, thats quite the feat.

Yeah MCU Cap would be competitive with his comic counterpart and he's the only MCU character than can really be said for.

Yeah, Cap at the moment can do everything Cable can do, but better.

Music, Movies, Tv and Books / Re: Nostalgia is so Toxic
« on: May 20, 2018, 02:14:25 PM »
I'm definitely a nostalgia fiend. I think it has alot to do with the way wider cultural changes have affected the way movies or tv shows are written and made. We've gone from an era where entertainment media was primarily if not solely about entertainment, to an era where it's increasingly used to push progressive political agendas such as ethnic diversity, feminism and gay acceptance.

Also, unapologetic masculinity is much less fashionable than it used to be, and this is so deeply embedded in US culture now that Hollywood is often forced to hire Australians when they need someone who can convincingly portray a gruff, macho man type. This is partly why my personal action movie collection is dominated by films from the '80s and early '90s.

We just became best friends.

Holy balls! I love stuff like that! I'm going to have to see this again to pick up subtle stuff like that.

As with AP. I didn't think of it as TK, just assumed he was using some future tech/magnets. Feel dumb now.

Was it? Thanks was limping into the light there at the end .

Collpasing the bridge is what seals the deal for me in making me think he was stronger.  Also, he twisted Colossus' arm and apparently knocked out a tooth.  I'm not positive Thor can do that to him.

I think he could do both if he can charge his punches. If we're going off of just raw strength, probably not.

I don't know if Juggernaut is stronger than Thor.  He struggled atleast a bit a bit swinging a bus, but then, earlier his collapsing the bridge with a single punch was pretty good. If Thor can amp his punches like in Ragnarok, it's over.

I think I'd still lean WS, though Cable did snag the car door and take shots (throws) from juggernaut. Yet still, outside the arm, Cable was human.

* we're still trying to keep that guy a bit of a secret.
