ICT / Re: Gubz measures the speed of DCCU Flash

I've heard the opposite was stated on the commentary.  I haven't watched the commentary, mind you.  It makes sense as reversing the spin of the Earth wouldn't reverse time.  That's a stupid concept even for a Superman movie.

I didn’t mind it. Watching it as a kid, it worked in a weird kid-logic sort of way. As an older comic fan, I get that it works as a Silver Age thing.

Apparently a lot of the new characters have their backgrounds in the novels.

Dern's character is supposedly Leia's best friend growing up....

Soooo does TLJ explain how Phasma survives TFA?

Much like needing the books to explain the new guys, Phasma had her own mini that showed her part of the tale.

how's Batman fare without the Batmobile and such?

Haven't seen JL yet. Any new tricks since Dawn of Justice?

He lost the ability to move his neck but got the gift of quirky one liners in return.

ICT / Re: Kylo Ren vs Rey

I’m still going with Rey.

She was simply far too competent. At everything.

Fixed the Falcon, flew it like an expert at her first attempt, utilized mind control and telekinesis on practically her first attempts, then took down a dude, albeit injured and emotionally conflicted, that’s been trained by one of the best Jedi since a presumably early age by using a weapon she had almost zero experience with just by altering what stave techniques she knew.

So yeah. Kylo might have given a better fight, but she’d still ultimately be better. Somehow. Midichlorians?

Always thought Hamm would have made a decent Alex Ross inspired Superman.

Pooky might have something similar to the bullets/blades vulnerability that we’ve seen in other notable comic characters.

Like Shuruku suggests, he looked like a real force early Post-Crisis during his time in JLI but has anyone ever called him 'second only to Superman in strength' as has been done with WW?

I’d go as far as to say that J’onn has probably had more verbal wank than Wonder Woman for a long while, though as mentioned earlier, much more fluctuating displays.

Music, Movies, Tv and Books / Re: JLU was the best superhero show ever?
« on: December 06, 2017, 07:24:13 AM »
I put Justice League and JLU together in my head. I loved the hour stories more, though some of the multi-part events in Unlimited reached some great highs. Definitely one of the best comic book cartoon alongside BTAS.

Current TV Shows / Re: The Flash

Haven’t watched anything from the season outside of the crossover, but I was really interested in Barry’s decision. I think he could have cleaned the evidence rather easily, but there’s still something he could have missed and would still have someone reporting him for a murder. In the end, I think he was trying to handle it straight, which puts him right where his dad was decades ago.

ICT / Re: The CW Justice League vs the movie Justice League

The Legends cast don’t seem too dependent on plot to lose as their abilities aren’t anywhere high enough to constantly require it. If there’s anyway that stand out, I’d say it was Ray and maybe, to a far lesser extent, Vixen.

While there's some truth to your evalution, my main gripe is the PIS or PI Incompetence of the CW Flash. For the most part CW Flash his villians don't even have 1/20 his speed yet they constantly  escape him or beat him till he finally wins at the end of the episode. Then there's his inability to defeat practically any of his foes without input from STAR labs.
It seems like CW Barry’s gotten a lot more competent a his show’s gone on though. Even in its infancy, I still think he proved much more competent(and speedier) than his movie incarnation who, in my opinion, would have quite the fight even against Age of Ultron’s Quicksilver.

I thought it was a tough sell for him to come back and suddenly the world, which had been divided against him in the frsit place, was suddenly mourning him, Tht's the problem with a rushed film

You’d need more than a single film to undo that mess. In fact, I think it might have been pretty much impossible by then. The foundation they had set with Man of Steel was so shaky to begin with, but BvS just made it more irredeemable with how they portrayed the characters.

The Flash neutralize each other CW Flash is marginally more competent but DCCU Flash is faster

I’d have to disagree. CW version fluctuates with arguably lower lows, but his highs look to be between what Ezra-Flash and Fox Quicksilver have shown.

I can see Aquaman beating down Steel, Vixen, Cold plus the elemental chic can't remember

I haven’t watched the latest season, but didn’t Steel stop a locomotive slamming into him? I don’t know what weaker showing he’s had since then, but I’d wager that durability display might be high enough to make it difficult for Arthur to do it. Still hard to place without knowing how strong the trident is since I’m starting to think the DCEU Justice League might have been more inconsistent than I thought.
