Marvel Zombies / Re: Characters Slott did right, characters Slott did wrong

So thoughts on Black Cat?

Black Cat is the reason I hate Dan Slott as a Spidey writer. Literal DECADES of established characterization and character growth chucked out the window because Doc Ock fucking punched her one time. Fuck you, Slott.

I don't like my red meat well-done, but I prefer it much closer to that than rare. I usually order medium-well.

I like my pork chops basically burnt to death via frying pan, but that might be because my wife makes pork chops by baking them, and they come out this dead, grey color and are all wet and disgusting.

When I eat graham crackers, I open the package and let it sit a few days so they get stale. THEN I eat them.
A well-made (skill) burger can still be juicy at medium-well.

Literally everybody I know only eats burgers well-done. Even the people I know who love rare steak. I have been told by everyone my whole life that burgers are magically like chicken: you can't eat it unless it is fully cooked.

There is no fucking way Hydro-Man defeats Captain America. Even if you put some one-sided stipulations in this fight (it's in a 15x15 adamantium room with no door and no other objects whatsoever), Cap would STILL find a way. He'd put Hydro-Man in a Justice Nerve Hold or something, and Hydro would be all "oh no... I can't... concentrate to... keep my liquid... form. Passing... out..."

It's an abject loser vs an A-list character.

Sinestro probably  pulls a majority.  Superior speed, versatility, and power. Mags has the way and skill edge with his power.  He will pull  some upsets.

My thoughts on the matter, yes. This should be close, but I see Sinestro's versatility pulling it out.

Is the shooter firing The Truth at the students? Because the NRA tells me that that is the best weapon.

I don’t mean to tell them how to do their job, but if they were really concerned about the truth, this would say “our biggest weapon is the billions of dollars we funnel into the pockets of politicians to influence policy and stop popular, common sense laws from getting passed”.

This Supes unequivocally destroys this Magneto.

And then he defeated them in a non-prep-time-based fight? Or is the precedence both real AND irrelevant? Were they actively engaged in combat with him when he snuck up on them?

Look, I'm not saying Kitty wins this fight. But I AM saying "OMG HE IS SNEEKY" is the stupidest rationale in the universe here.

So the standard for this fight is that Batman is hunting Kitty, and she has no idea where he is or that she's being hunted?

And are you talking about Morrison's run on JLA where the martians had an utter contempt for and lack of respect for Batman's abilities, and he knew their weakness when they had no idea he knew it?

Leaning Sue. She seems the most versatile of the bunch.

Pietro zips around and takes out Kurt and Kitty and then slams into an invisible wall.

If she can beat Midnighter (she can), she can beat Batman.
The reason she can beat Midnighter so effectively would not apply here.

Ruh? How so.  Her being in a phased state isn't something that is noticeable until she makes it so.  She'd honestly be able to give bats a hell of a fight. She's not a subpar rookie.  And if she opted to even partially phase bats into anything it's instantly over.  For as long as I've read bats and I could have missed something I don't recall him countering someone while phased.

The reason Kitty beats Midnighter with contemptuous ease is the fact that he has a computer inside him, and when Kitty phases through electronics, they malfunction and blow up. He's a walking, talking weakness to her.

Bats doesn't have that problem.

Still, this is a 50/50 situation at worst for her. He COULD beat her if his circumstances and timing are flawlessly perfect, but if he is off even by a fraction, she's going to get him.

I might be wrong, but I think he's saying that since she breathes while phased, KO gas could take her out.
