It should be said that even Tokien didn't seem to know what the fuck Bombadil was as he wanted to be intentionally vague about him.  He thought every good story needs at least one good mystery and Tom was it for the LOTR mythos.
Very true. It's nothing more than speculative fanfic with Bombadil, but it is kind of fun.

As for the durasteel feat, not only is it a fictional metal, but that was Vader at his darkest moment.  It's his Aunt May mode.
Fair. It does show the power is there, but that level couldn't be called upon at will. It's possible that it could come out if Vader is truly afraid of dying. Or maybe he'd welcome death. I don't fucking know. Dude's fucked in the head.

As for simply slamming Vader through a wall, he'd have to get into lightsaber range to do so, and every trained force user is shown to have precognitive reflexes(from Qui-Gon is Epi1). Tony flies fast when he wants. Does he fly faster than Jar Jar's stupid tongue flick or sudden blaster bolts?

The biggest problem is that we never saw Vader against an opponent with seriously superior firepower, so it's tough to say how he'd react once the battle got going. But during the opening salvo where Tony is launching more quips than rockets (a part of his arsenal that I don't see film Vader dealing with very well), Vader will have every chance to get inside Tony's head where he is actually weakest or to use the lethal force techniques that Master and Scourge were mentioning. I suppose this depends on where Tony's head's at at the moment of the fight. Are recent MCU developments still weighing heavily on him? Wouldn't take much for Vader to take advantage of that. Then again, push the wrong button and it might backfire a la Luke in Epi 6. But I don't see any fight where Tony just starts off full bore. He just doesn't do that without a good reason.

I'm not trying to give Vader the majority or anything silly like that. I'm just saying it's not as simple as: Tony makes a quip. Vader attempts intimidation. Tony fires some lasers and realizes they don't work so well and just battering rams Vader into submission.

I mean, the general consensus here seems to be that Vader could win quickly, but in a prolonged battle he'd lose more often than not. That's probably fair in a situation where Tony can fly. But with the battle taking place on Cloud City, is it indoors or out on a platform like Obi vs Jango? Because his flight, a greater advantage than his speed or possibly even strength, would be essentially nullified indoors. And I just don't see Vader pulling a "play with your food" moment in too many of those fights. He only really did that with people he was close to, at least as far as we saw in the films. Tony likes to start slow and Vader does not. IM 6/10.

That's just it. I don't think it would be the same. Again, I realize we don't know exactly what the material is from the movies, but "durasteel" and "duracrete" are canon still as far as I could find(they're in the Visual Encyclopedia). Would Vader's ability to crush durasteel as seen in his force tantrum in Epi 3 translate into crush the Iron Man suit? Dunno. Be he can definitely crush bone inside of the suit.

Also, he picks people up with the Force and chucks them around in R1, so there's another example of "bigger than a basketball."

Go watch the ESB fight again

Vader uses the Force to rip a piping thing off the wall nearly as big as he is and toss it at Luke

"Nothing bigger than a basketball" wtf

This one?

Yeah, the pipe is taller, but it's also pretty slender and hollow.  It likely doesn't weigh much and I imagine of tony gets hit by it, it won't do much damage.

I think the point is less about the size of the pipe but rather that he ripped it out of the wall. Granted, we have no way of really knowing how strong the bolts/welds are that hold the pipe to the wall or what the material is from this scene alone, but it at least opens the possibility up for Vader to rip pieces of the Iron Man suit off of Stark.

There really isn't much to go on with Bombadil. I'm not sure what "strict movie feats" Thorne is referencing, unless he means that since Bombadil isn't in the movies, he has none.

What you see Bombadil do in the books seems extremely impressive, but then you have to try to compare magic from different worlds. Bombadil is immune to the influence of the One Ring, is capable of commanding nature(Old Man Willow), banishing/dispersing creatures of shadow (Wights), and remove powerful curses without effort (cursed Barrow Downs stuff). But then again, are LotR curses anything compared to HP curses?

If you consider that HP magic is no more capable of overcoming Bombadil than anything possessed by Sauron, then yeah, Bombadil likely wins easily.

This is not taking into account all the crazy fan theories about Bombadil's true nature.

ETA: If nothing else, Bombadil is an unparalleled Occlumens and likely an extremely powerful Legilimens.

Being burned by awesome first season before I never trust a show to have anything mapped out beyond the first season.

I entirely understand that, but this show really kept things going this season. I'm hoping Neo's right and next season continues the streak.

In any case, it really seems like the show will have a difficult time going beyond this season, at least with the current cast. I suppose they could get shunted off into another medium place or something and dick around for a season or two, but I don't really see where the narrative would go at that point. Maybe they get to the Good Place, and it sucks or something.

I guess I'm just burned out on that storyline. It's always set up so poorly, and even in a case like this where it makes a lot of sense, I'd rather just give it a pass. It won't cause me to stop watching as long as it doesn't devolve into half of each show being BL and his ex yelling at each other.

Yeah, but I think that will lead to Michael's -- I don't know the word. Not redemption since he's always been a demon, but you know what I mean. Ascendance? That works.

I want a goddamn liter of cola

Don't know if the window has passed on this or not, but I'll definitely give it a go.

meh she seem ok with him at the end

She was okay with it, because it involved their children. Will she be okay with it once her kids are safe and it's someone else's kids on the chopping block? I'm not saying that I don't understand that mentality. I'd do a whole lot more to protect my family than someone else's. But it will likely cause problems down the road unless she has a serious change of heart. And I could really do without the classic "love interest gets mad at main character for doing hero shit" plot line.

I had completely forgotten that she existed. I had to look her up, and even seeing her picture I don't remember her. She was apparently in six episodes. Yeah, she must have been extremely boring.

Were we supposed to sympathize with her? I figured we were watching the villain of the story.

And on that note i'm done here.
You guys dont want to hear different opinions, just the same one, over and over 'police bad, dumbasses who called them, good'.

The fuck. I get that this is Gen Chat, not Debate, so a certain amount of antagonizing is allowed and all that, and I figured that's what your initial response was. But now it seems you actually think the guy who got shot was somehow involved in the swat call - either as the dipshit who called or the dipshit who was arguing with him online over a $1.50 match of COD. But the only way you could think that is if you're as dumb as a bag of really dumb hammers. Are you as dumb as a bag of really dumb hammers. Because I'm beginning to think you are. Dumb as a bag of really dumb hammers.

Fucking christ fuck, you're stupid.

Yeah, I definitely enjoyed this, but it didn't leave me itching for next season. The fallout for each episode was pretty predictable, especially in Arkangel. Black Museum was definitely trying hard to make you think things were going to go the opposite way, and I bought that for most of the episode. But I do have to say that the end was really kind of sickening. I mean, the main attraction might have been resolved, but all those little pocket-version souvenirs still exist, essentially negating everything. That's not a bad thing story-wise, but it does make the character's feeling of triumph seem overstated.
