General Comic Discussion / Re: Amalgam Comics
« on: December 06, 2017, 05:21:01 PM »
Back then when the EIC's of Marvel & DC decided on this they just had to run it past corporate bosses who frankly didn't pay much attention to the internal goings on in their "funny book" division.
Now that there are potential billion (let me say that again...Billion) dollar movies attached to every character, and adding the folks at Disney into the mix it may be pretty low on the list for making deals. Maybe after everything is said and done and all the contracts signed over who owns what in the X-Men/Mutant stable of characters they might want to try something new with joint ownership.
I think I've quoted Robert Heinlein here before..." Whenever you ask why "they" do such and such, the answer is always money."

I don't need any gear, so I'll take the Purple Man's mental powers, Mystique's shape changing and if there's any slots left over I'll grab Wolverine's healing factor so I can rule the world from behind the scenes forever.
   Kinda creepy huh.

Buffy is used to fighting opponents who are stronger than she is and still wins because she's willing to die rather than lose.  Alara is just strong for the average gravity level. No particular training we've seen or drive to either protect or simply survive.

Either world I'll take the Deathstroke/Midnighter combo.
I also always thought that the Midnighter's power set was basically the exact same as Ultimate Cap.  They were both done by the same guys of course.

   In no particular order...
   Babylon 5
   West Wing
   I Spy
   Firefly
   Buffy the Vampire Slayer
   Blackadder
   Hogan's Heroes
   Greatest American Hero
   Saturday Night Live
   Star Trek

While she could drill a hole in his chest big enough to throw Lockjaw thru...The Incredible Freaking Hulk just heals up and keeps on truckin'

Putin is a Bond villain. Trump is a xXx villain.

Well said.

I always thought of Trump as a Bugs Bunny villian.

Hence my caveats assbutt

I was agreeing with you.  I know with your charming personality it probably doesn't happen much, but when it does, you shouldn't insult the person....schmuck.

Anybody dumb enough to try and violate a pit bull...Did we really want them breeding more little dumdums anyway?

They don't need to try to redeem the original Scott Summers, just gradually phase him out and use the younger version of the same character from "All New X-men".
If you're not familiar with the book, the original 5 are pulled from a time when the book was around issue #20 and brought to the present day. They've decided to stay and try to fix the mistakes they made in the Future/Past.
A Scott from before events and bad writers kicked his moral compass around and called it characterization.

I pity the poor artist who has to draw this panel after panel, issue after issue.
Also I tend to go with the school of thought that the most effective costumes have been fairly simple in design. Spider-Man, Silver Age Green Lantern, the issue #1 X-men or Fantastic Four.

ICT / Re: Bryan Singer vs Kevin Spacey
« on: October 31, 2017, 11:46:35 AM »
So far Spacey only has one case of making a drunken pass at someone he shouldn't. That doesn't measure up to the repeated over decades assaults by both Cosby & Weinstein.
If more young men turn up accusing Spacey, that will be another story.

Yeah, but let's see Jeremy Renner sing "Springtime for Hitler".
