DC Drones / Nightwing destroys the DC Universe
« on: Today at 10:52:51 AM »
Kind of.
This is something i might have to check out:

I've always thought NW would be the perfect guy to take out the DC heroes if put his mind to it.
He knows every secret, every weakness, he has the training, the patience, and is the second most trusted hero on the planet.

General Comic Discussion / Random comics trivia

Did a search, dont think we have one.

Anyway, i posted this at KMC, but found it interesting/wanted to share.
Its something i noticed as a kid, and always just thought it was artist error (which i'm sure it was):

In the 60s, the mostly 5 toed Hulk was occasionally drawn with 3 toes. Sometimes 4.
This was actually subtly addressed in AVENGERS FOREVER:
(Note the number of toes in the last panel on the second to last page)

Food and Fitness / 5 wost exercises, do you guys do them?

Behind the neck press
Good mornings
Upright rows
Leg extensions

The guy in the vid is a pro athlete trainer/phys. therapist, he breaks down each one.
Me, i dont do any of them.
Flys/uprights always seemed to hurt my joints even as a kid, i dropped those in HS.
Behind the nevk presses never let me go heavy, and i like heavy shoulder work so i've always stayed away from them.
Good mornings always seemed retarded, a good way to tip over & kill yourself, dropped those before i even got to HS.
Leg extensions i've done my share of, but not in about 15 years, as they hurt my knees. I prefer leg presses squats.

Read earlier its the one power easiest to counter, but also the one a team cant do without.
So, best 7 member team you can, using only characters that have been members.

General Chat / Any lefties here?
« on: April 30, 2017, 01:36:24 PM »
Is there a sure way to tell if you were born left handed?

I've long suspected i might have been.
I've always been more dominant at arm wrestling leftie.
My natural boxing stance is southpaw.
When i broke my wrist many (many) years ago, i picked up shaving my face (and head) really easy, and picked up writing left handed (had to, for work) pretty quick, and still write legibly, if not perfectly that way.

ICT / Ben 10 type live action generator
« on: April 29, 2017, 04:52:45 PM »
Not aliens, but live action movie/TV characters.

The deets:
No comic book properties.

One per universe

Not power stacking. You get one character at a time.

Fill 10 different power/skill sets of your choice (like Ben has a fire, speed, strength, tech etc. character). Just make sure you explain what slot each of your characters is filling.
They can range from bad ass normal to super powered.

Like Ben, you become the character, but you have 100% access to his powers/skills/abilities.

While some overlap is inevitable (Ben has several aliens that are strong, but Four Arms is his go to strong guy) dont, i wont say cheat, but double dip. You shouldnt say 'Hancock is my flight character' while he's actually stronger than your strength character.

Powers should be internalized.
You cant pick Michael Knight as your tech character, just to get KITT.

Be creative.
Given that KITT is basically his own character, you could just choose to become the car.

Weapons dont necessarily carry over.
Like said, a car is too much, a personal weapon like The Bride's sword or Harry Potter's wand is okay. If you choose someone with guns, ammo is not unlimited, but refreshed each time you manifest the character.

Since we're all guys, no female characters.

I think that covers everything. :P

Showcase of the Immortals / A women's match headlining WM?
« on: April 29, 2017, 02:06:56 PM »

^^^This article talks about it happening within the next few years, specifically Charlotte Flair in the match. IMO, if any female can pull it off, she can. She has the skill, the marquee name; it would be a shot in the arm for the show of shows if booked well.
So, a few Qs for you guys:

First & most important, is a women's WM main event a good idea?

If Flair is one half of the match, who on either RAW or SD (or NXT, which i'm not up on) could/should be the other half?

What scenario'd be best:
Flair defending?
Champion vs Champion?
Flair as a heel or face?

General Chat / I finger banged this guy at the gym yesterday
« on: April 28, 2017, 12:20:19 PM »
I gave him the classic

And he responded with this awkward thumbs up

Like he didnt know the proper etiquette.
Either i'm way out of touch or he was.
Thought the finger bang was still used like the high five, and fist bump...?

General Comic Discussion / IDWs First Strike
« on: April 23, 2017, 04:55:53 AM »

Following 2016’s “Revolution” event — which saw IDW’s licensed Hasbro properties united in one shared universe — “First Strike” picks up with Earth about to join the Cybertronian Council of Worlds. That peaceful event is interrupted by Cobra, as Baron Ironblood — historically the British counterpart to Cobra Commander — has targeted all Cybertronians for termination, putting the Transformers in serious jeopardy. The G.I. Joes, led by Scarlett, and the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, stand in the way in the face of extinction — enlisting help along the way from, apparently, an unlikely ally in the form of Soundwave of the Decepticons.

This sounds really fun.

Do you ever actually see the Dude bowl in that movie?!?
I cant recall, but i really dont think so.

Where does the movie rank (if at all) in your Top Ten favorite movies of all time?
Me, i'm not a fan, though lord knows i've tried.

DC Drones / Buncha new DC books/Dark Matter
« on: April 21, 2017, 05:30:02 AM »
Saw this at KMC. If there's a thread about it i havent seen it.

They all seem fairly generic.
The challengers is the only one interesting to me, and only to see how they tie in/ignore history.

The Immortal Men

New Challengers

Showcase of the Immortals / Will there be another draft this year?
« on: March 29, 2017, 11:53:07 AM »
Props' Reigns thread got me thinking to ask.

Sending Reigns to SD and hooking him up with his revamped cousins is the makings of a great heel faction.

Miz to Raw is deserved. He Keeps proving himself no matter the angle. Seeing the US title relevant again would be nice, too.

ICT / Of a type team builder
« on: March 24, 2017, 10:54:14 AM »
A viable team of comics characters consisting of:

1 street leveler (or what would pass as a street on your team)
2 mid tiers (same as above)
1 character to cover science (can be of any tier but shouldnt surpass the powerhouse)
1 character to cover magic (same as above)
1 powerhouse (your big gun, overall physically, herald level power cap)

You can (but dont have to) add one more character to make 7, and cover the science/magic slots or add to your street/mid tiers, but not specifically another powerhouse.

The catch, the characters have to be of a type.
Choose from the following categories:

• Water -to include water breathers and water manipulators-
• Fire -to include fire themed but not actually powered characters-
• Martial artists -not characters that know MA (ex: Batman/Wolverine) but characters who have MA personas (ex: Iron Fist, Bronze Tiger)-
• Animal themed -characters can have animal powers, as well as names, but must look human while using them-
• Animalistic -characters must be, or look beastly while using powers-
• Anime/Manga -only category allowed cartoons. As i'm no expert, dont want to limit choices too much-
• Science -the challenge is finding a scientist to cover magic-
• Magic -the challenge is finding a magic user to cover science-

General Chat / Monopoly pieces switched out this year
« on: March 20, 2017, 11:15:44 AM »

Of the 3 replaced i'll miss the thimble.
I'd just stick it on the end of my finger to move the piece easily. Granted most people probably dont kniw what a thimble IS any more. I knew a gal thought it was a garbage can.
