Music, Movies, Tv and Books / GOTG 2 reviews
« on: April 24, 2017, 07:17:28 AM »

I saw some video that was basically superdickery.com on youtube about horrible things Superman has done.  They had all the old weird stuff Superman did in the 50's like marrying Jimmy Olsen off to a gorilla and everything but one of the stories they referenced was a recent comic where Superman called Batman "Bruce" by accident in front of the Joker.  They gave no context for the scene and didn't even bother to say the issue or anything.  Anyway, I'm curious to know what that's all about.

I looked around and couldn't find anything.

ICT / MCU Defenders vs MCU Agents of SHIELD
« on: April 16, 2017, 10:19:31 PM »
Instead of sneaking into the Hand HQ, the Defenders sneak into the SHIELD base.  Their mission: subdue the main team (Coulson, Quake, May, The Patriot, Fitz-Simmons, Yo-yo, and Mac).  The agents get all the manpower and resources they would normally have in their base.

ICT / Video: Reeves Superman vs DCCU Superman
« on: April 15, 2017, 03:49:00 AM »

The video points out the Routh Supes was also the Reeves Supes, so he combines feats.  The thing that bugs me is that he thinks Supes' turned back time instead of simply traveling in time, but whatevs.  Here's how he breaks it down:

Reeves is stronger and faster

DCCU Supes is more durable and smarter.

Ultimately Reeves wins.  Thoughts?

... Josh Brolin.

That makes this four different comic characters the man has played after Thanos, Dwight in Sin city 2, and Johnah Hex.

ICT / Nods to the Ghost Rider topic - What's the most jobbed power?
« on: April 11, 2017, 12:14:10 PM »
Ghost Rider's Penance Stare seems to get tanked for a variety of stupid reasons, so what are some other powers that should be pretty badass but end up ineffective in practice?

Blackbolt's master blow never appeared to be very impressive.  It was sort of like the Iron Fist in that it was a super-charged punched that left him drained.  Even at a time when he was depicted as one of the more powerful Marvel heroes, the blow was barely enough to hurt the Thing and it left Blackbolt staggered, which is probably why it wasn't used often.

Just Tube It! / Short film done in one shot via drone
« on: April 08, 2017, 12:28:07 AM »

The effects of total social breakdown arise from on high in a quaint, closely-knit neighborhood in 'At The End of the Cul-De-Sac,' the latest film from Life and Death of an iPhone filmmaker Paul Trillo. Captured entirely in a single-take with the watchful eye of a quadcopter drone, it's equal parts Death of a Salesman as it is Twilight Zone and Black Mirror, old issues at the heart of man finding new life in the uneasy ubiquity of modern technology.

ICT / Build Your Own WWII
« on: April 02, 2017, 08:51:05 AM »
We're gonna do this team builder a little differently in that you will actually be building two teams and pitting them up against one another.  We're going to recreate WWII using the major Allies and Axis powers and have the teams go up against one another.  Choose one character for each country and pick from any media.  Here are the stips:

1) The characters have to be either born in or at least a citizen of each country.  If push comes to shove, you can go by ethnicity (Japanese American, Italian American, etc.).

2) No aliens, robots, etc.  They have to be from Earth and be human (or at least human offshoots like mutants or what have you).

3) The Allies should be a team capable of beating the Axis.
