Yeah, don’t feel too constraint by numbers (least important part)—rather you get your whole idea you have out. Think putting Blue Marvel and Spectrum in rounds the team out nicely

ICT / Who would you want on the Avengers?
« on: May 21, 2018, 07:41:05 AM »
Marvel Editorial says to you, give us an Avengers roster to work with—we want it to feel classic and iconic, but balance that with fresh and innovative. You can put together any 7 (doesn’t have to be exactly 7, number is a looser guide) member team from Marvel. Don’t feel constrained by whatvever is going on currently in our books as this project isn’t for a few years and we’ll work it out by the time the book comes out that the character and version of the character you have in mind is ready to go.

So...what’s your roster?

I can't even tell who this is trying to appeal to.
Is there nothing that millenials won’t ruin?

So glad that the words I couldn't find to express my displeasure when I saw this were already here.

He’s good enough to steal it from a hospital in under 2 hrs—assuming he’s not in the middle of no where. Considering he’s usually in NYC, I think he could pull it off.

The good ones do

Hospitals have sedative gas?  But seriously, yeah, I just saw he has two hours of prep, so he could get his hands on something.

Punisher could potentially win in this scenario. He’d know any means of guns or direct physical attack won’t work so he’ll use what he has. Hopefully he has some gas to knock him out. In one portrayal he had all kinds of super hero gear like Pym particles but I’d say that’s not typical. Still, there are ways.

I didn’t know that was their origin—was it shown in the movie anywhere?

Pai Mei likely wins. Don’t think Conan could really land a hit on him.

Yeah—a one on one fight I think Cap would be hard pressed to win

Feats are tough since it’s not that kind of movie.

Not that it was directly shown but they supposedly were not vulnerable to traditional current means of elimination due to their armor, though the armor around their head opened, they normally opened and closed it in rapid pulse like fashion. Draw your own conclusions but they’re basically bullet proof unless you can get em to open their face as far as I could gather.

Speed wise it was just shown them moving damn fast. They’d race across a field of wheat in a second just kicking up dust as they went by. It was a clear feed of them too, so it gave a real sense of just how fast these things were. I don’t know if I could put a number to it, but greater than 100 mph seems right... maybe 200mph?. Very hard to say.

One of those creatures from A Quiet Place vs everyone's favorite MCU super soldier. Obv those things are way beyond a normal human's ability to handle, but what about Cap? How does he do?

Music, Movies, Tv and Books / Re: Nostalgia is so Toxic
« on: May 19, 2018, 01:57:26 PM »
Many people these days can be so hateful, negative, closed minded, and neophobic about modern cartoons, movies, and live action TV shows. Its just disgusting, The nostalgic people often say "Modern Media pale in comparison to classic Media". They cannot move past their nostalgia and refuse to move on, also too afraid to watch and give new series a chance.

Honestly, I enjoy new movies like the MCU, Pacific Rim, Kong: Skull Island. cartoons like Adventure Time, The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Chowder, Wander Over Yonder, Young Justice. For live action TV shows The Tick (2016), Walking Dead, and Daredevil.

Its good to move up with the times to watch new things and not be stuck with 1980's/1990's nostalgia.

The Avenger's Earth's Mightiest Heroes is almost universally loved around these parts and I think it can stand up to just about animated series in actual quality. I think there's room for both nostalgia and enjoying the classics. One trend I don't like is trying to do classic action material as comedy shows. Like I'd much rather Teen Titans than Teen Titans Go--is that a nostalgia thing? I don't think so.

But as to a lot of the media you mentioned, people seem to really enjoy it. Pacific Rim had everyone going crazy. Superhero movies are almost universally better than they were two decades ago. etc.

On the other hand, the original Indiana Jones series was great, the Crystal Skull? No thanks. I think there's a lot of attempts to cash in on nostalgia that fall flat. Maybe making people say that things aren't like they used to be? Still think most (at least in the herochat sphere) can appreciate something quality and new though.
