You just act out some stuff, and anytime the stuff you say pure going to do is not garunteed to work and also not def going to fail, you roll a 20 sided die. Then you add numbees to that, the higher your total the better you do. Usually there are 6 stats (strength, dexterity, constitution, intelligence, wisdom and charisma) depending on what you’re doing you’ll usually add a number based on one of those. If you’re really good at a thing in particular (proficient) you add more or that roll on top of the ability based number.

Beyond that, you decide what kind of character you want—essentially do you want a lot of physical prowess or are you more into magic and the mind? Maybe you want some of both? Your class helps shape all of that and what kinds of things you can do.

Next step would be to do a little google research or ask specific questions tho.

I'm real into 5e personally. It's also the only system I've tried but I found it very approachable. I hear Pathfinder is better in terms of customization, that the math help simulate all things better, but I'm playing with a bunch of new players and 5e is still something they're all trying to pick up (and beginning to get). They're killing it on the banter part.

This store in Brooklyn has D&D sessions, I haven't had time to go though.

I've never done a store session either. I live closer to Brooklyn Strategist which I think also has sessions.

What are you talking about? Miller made him an explicitly mystical ninja.

DD does do some incredible mystic ninja stuff at times. But he's not Temugin, Iron Fist, Shang Chi, or any of the other insane chi manipulators at Marvel. If Miller was your last time reading Daredevil, I'd suggest picking up a more recent issue.

Look for a request from Professor Murder.

A Request from Professor Murder?

What is this? An early 90's independent horror crossover starring Tim Thomerson?!

I’m really into Critical Role which is shot to be watched but I just listen as a podcast most of the time as I can listen while commuting. Highly recommend if you want a good one and they have a lot of guests including celebs like Manginello, Hardwck and even that guy who played Napoleon Dynamite

bc a ranking requires some kind of ordering, this simply provides categorization.

DD isn't much of a chi manipulator, I don't think.

Actually digging 5th edition a lot.

Although Rangers suck in this version.

If you're comfortable with UA material, you're set and they're not underpowered at all. Also the ones in Xanthars are pretty amazing conceptually and could be used with the UA stuff

Daredevil for skill.
Batman for fighter.

This^

DD is capable HM of moves and techniques that Bruce is not. Bruce brings more strategy, psychology, adds stealth, and a wide array of weapons and gear into a fight.

Bruce for example cannot do this

Even the way DD "Ducks" uses vastly more skill than Bats

I'm on board
