Title: Devil May Cry 5
Post by: Gree on June 13, 2018, 09:35:53 AM
Looks like a good sequel to 4. But Christ they made Dante hideous

They really had to step it up after Bayonetta was better twice. Maybe they'll deliver.

I really liked 4, but the combat was clearly geared toward Nero rather than Dante.  Which is unfortunate since Dante had some really unique weapons in that.

Honestly the combat in DmC was very good, but nobody wanted to give that game a chance just because Dante looked like a fag.  But it was really good.

I hope they adjust his character model and improve upon he combat for 5. I don’t give a shit about Nero

Nero is somuch more fun to play than Dante ever was. His arm allowed for such creative combos and the sword Red Queen and Yamato...Brutal, awesome stuff.

Dante looks like a toothless retiree hobo that jacked s motorcycle. He’s supposed to be immortal or extremely long lived

And handsome #AF lbh

Hahaha, didn't the last game fail because people hated Dante's new look?  Good move, Capcom.

Yes, because people are fucking morons.  Maybe if you played it you'd like it as I did.

I was less criticizing DmC and more acknowledging the strange decision making involved in doing the same thing they got in trouble for last time.  I played DmC and liked it just fine, they really went all out with the production, I just know that it was widely maligned because of Dante's redesigned look.  People decided they hated it before it came out and the game never recovered.

I was one of those faggots who didn't like his changed look.  But the gameplay was way smoother than any of the prior games.  People need to not be faggots as I was and give shit a chance rather than bitch about stupid shit that doesn't hurt gameplay.

Though, the idea of Devil Mode only being effective on airborne enemies was kind of stupid.

People did the same thing about Wind Waker and it wound up becoming iconic. Video game fans are ranked right behind comic fans for being whiny little bitches.

Yea, but Wind Waker also wasn't that great in comparison to other Zeldas.  I mean, it only had 4 dungeons really.  And sailing in the original GC version was horribly slow.

I am liking Nero's new look, and am certainly intrigued to what the story
might be.

That being said, although its "normal" for Dante to age, I don't understand :
according to Capcom DMC2 (still canon last I checked) is the last game in the
franchise story-wise. So if it still is, Dante looking much older now compared
to how he looks in that game does need some explaining.

Then again, they very poorly forced Nero to be related to Dante (by having
Vergil uncharacteristically bone someone). So they may just not care for their
game's plot at this point.

Pretty sure something had Dante, as son of Sparda as immortal or extremely long lived. It doesn’t make sense, really.

You can classically have the age until peak physical for, and then stop aging kind of thing, but DMC2 is supposed to be after, and Dante was more powerful and still the same age compared to normal. They must’ve retconned stuff or we can wait and see

It's been a while for me but the chronological order is 3, 1, 4, 2?  Is that correct?

I only played 2 once because it was horrible.

Yep

I wonder if 2 is even canon, it was done by different people according to an interview I read, and putting it last chronologically was really a throwaway statement to avoid dealing with it's ending (Dante going into hell).  Factor in that it's the most hated one and my personal guess is it doesn't count at all anymore.

If they wanted to incorporate it, however, then older hobo Dante could be the results of Dante going into hell at the end of 2.  So you'd have the order now be:

3, 1, 4, 2, 5
