Title: Will Jinder Mahal win the world title?
Post by: Propeus The Fallen on May 18, 2017, 09:17:19 AM
Orton's title reign has been...well like all his others, poorly received and no one watching.

So will the WWE actually let Jinder Mahal win the title on Sunday in Chicago?

Probably.

I'm going to say no. I think they will hope that his push alone will be enough to lure the Indian audience.

First two matches of Backlash have been good.

Other than the new, blacker Usos winning.

Betting odds have shifted back from Jinder to Orton.

Between last night's Takeover and tonight's show, I'm REAL tired of this stupid soccer cars commercial.

So the answer to the topic "yes", it seems.

Yes

I was wrong, but pleased to be so. Let's see what Jinder can do as Champion.

Otoh, Becky is still jobbing away. This time via a tap out to Natalya. The hairstyle was ridic tonight too. She's a fine looking woman. I don't know why she goes all weirdo sometimes.

Wow. Becky loses again. Shocking. I couldn't have seen that coming with Becky getting cheered more than Charlotte and heaven forbid if Charlotte is not the main star of women's wrestling and fans have a choice. I swear, she's the female Roman Reigns.

And Mahal won. After AJ Styles couldn't get a decent match out of him.

Lucha Underground can't come back soon enough!!!

Charlotte is the female Reigns in regards to push, but at least she's talented and entertaining.

I thought Backlash was pretty damn good head-to-toe. Orton/Mahal was a predictable snooze, but the rest of the card was swell

Hopefully Jinder's reign ends up a road shortener to the title for Rusev. Assuming he returns as smashing as ever that is.

May not be a fan, but I can't deny Orton will put people over (Henry, Miz, Bray, Jinder.)

MVP of the night: that one Bollywood Boy whom Orton tossed so hard even Randy couldn't help but wince on camera.

Well, it's been over two months and thoughts so far on Jinder as champion...

He sucks. I'm sorry, but he is just bad. So bad the fans don't even bother booing him. As in they are all wondering "why the hell is he champion/still champion?" He hasn't improved in ring at all. I mean, he's just bland. Say what you will about JBL, but at least he did have some character and the clothesline. Jinder snarls and...stomps and restholds. And his isn't good on the mic. Its almost like if McMahon had pulled the trigger and made an angry Dino Bravo world champion.

Also...he makes the babyfaces dumber because of the Singh brothers because they just jump up on the ring and the babyface swings at them or just happen to go to a corner where they are at like nothing will happen.

And this has hurt Smackdown in my eyes because...I now know the show doesn't matter. It doesn't. I mean, I always knew if Smackdown got a wrestler over, they'd go to RAW to die or do the exact same thing they did on Smackdown, but now I know that any stupid idea that goes through that senile out of touch McMahon's brain will be put on Smackdown to try because--hell with it, its Smackdown. Who cares? Not Vince and not any of us.

But I will say this for Jinder, it doesn't help that the WWE is going with "heel who hates America" and feuding with Randy "yawwwwwn" Orton. Or booking two PPV matches with the exact same finish.

JBL was a fantastic champion who legit drew massive amounts of heat. The smarks hated him but that's typical of the IWC if a wrestler isn't busting out hurricanrana's and shit.

The clothesline from hell was an amazing finisher and JBL is criminally underrated during his time as champion.

Eddie vs JBL was the shit.

Also, Orton should never ever be booked as a face. He's a natural heel, a dishonirably disharged former marine that is clearly full of himself, with real life evidence to back it up.

He's quite literally the anti-Cena.

Legend killer/Viper Orton is the only legitimate Orton.

Nobody can ever say shit because I'm right as fuck about this.

Frequently, workrate hounds at places like WrestlingForum or Reddit's Squared Circle. You know, the types that discount character and mic work. That think people like Edge and Big Show were mediocre. Plus think everything revolves around how many match stars one puts up.

That said, Bradshaw was rather dickish behind the scenes at times. (Granting that is not unusual in ths business.) I could get not liking him for that reason. I wasn't at all unhappy upon hearing about how Steve Blackman put him in his place.

But all that taken, as a character JBL was effective regardless.

Lol you say that like quality of performance is tied to something beyond the ability to execute moves, charisma and ability on the mic, and ring psychology.

JBL had everything. Good in the ring, great to excellent mic work, an extremely solid character that was true to his real life persona etc...

He was stiff as fuck so that and his dickish behavior backstage were marks against him.

He's still ridiculously underrated and one of the best pure heels of all time.

JBL during his "wrestling gawd-uh" days was amazing. I was a cena fan at the time and was still upset when that all went down.

JBL was putrid as a worker by the time he got his Main Event run, but his character was phenomenal. Unfortunately, they pushed him to the World title so rapidly and with so little build that it was out of nowhere, and he didn't seem to be at that level... until it was just about time to take the belt off of him.

Also, ratings took a goddamn NOSEDIVE during his run, so he was absolutely a poor draw.
